It could be the motor of the powerhead, it could be the power head isn't getting power from the vacuum. You will need to troubleshoot all these areas to determine what the problem is.

Why is there no power to the beater bar head?

Hi Greg, it's Jack at Dyson.

From what you've described, it sounds like the issue lies within the main body of your vacuum, and not with the motorised cleaner head itself. Just for reference, DC25's belt is designed to last the lifetime of the machine without replacement - it's protected by a sensor which shuts off the brush bar for protection if something jams it. We'd advise against dismantling the machine any further than is shown in the User guide, as damage could be caused.

I'm not sure how long you've owned your DC25, but it may still be within the Dyson warranty period. If a repair is needed, this could be covered - I'd encourage you to give us a call to discuss this further.

You can reach the Dyson Customer Helpline by calling 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) 1800 239 766 (AU), or 0800 298 0298 (UK).

We'll look forward to speaking with you.

The motorised head on My dc31 animal has stopped spinning have checked no blockages and have tried another motorised head and this also does not spin !! Help please , otherwise a great little vacuum

Neither head is receiving power from main unit. Check out the wiring and make sure that power is reaching the motor of the head unit.

Brush on a Dyson DC35 stops rotating. I cleared it of any debris, cleaned off the roller, no obstructions in the tube, and it kept doing it.

I have twice had this intermittent problem of the spinning brush in the Dyson DC35 motorised head starting then stopping after a few seconds, and in both cases it was because of hair getting into the machinery behind the cog that drives the brush bar. It's fairly easy to fix (the only specialised tool required is a small torx-head screwdriver), and I wrote an illustrated step-by-step guide at:

Intermittent motor head

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

If your DC35's motorised cleaner head seems to work intermittently or cuts out when moved, this suggests that there could be a loose connection somewhere. We're keen to help you check for this, and our experts can talk you through some simple diagnostic checks to pinpoint the cause of the issue. If a replacement part is needed, we can also confirm whether or not your DC35 is still covered under its Dyson warranty.

When you have your DC35 fully charged and easily to hand, please give the Dyson Customer Helpline a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

We'll look forward to speaking with you.

I have a dc56, will the new tangle free turbine tool, part No 925068, fit it?

Hi Lyn, it's Jack at Dyson.

DC56, the new Dyson Hard vacuum cleaner, is engineered for quick cleanups on hard floor surfaces - wood, laminate, lino, tile etc. It also converts into a powerful handheld vacuum for dusting tasks around the home and inside the car.

The Dyson Hard is not designed for use on carpeted floors, and we do not manufacture a motorised head for this machine as it lacks the wiring and connections needed to supply current to a motorised head.

Airflow-driven Turbine heads, such as the Tangle-free Turbine tool, are engineered to work with the performance characteristics of our mains-powered vacuum cleaners, and are not compatible with Dyson cordless or handheld vacuums.

However, we do have a range of accessories which are compatible with DC56, and you can find these on our website: http://www.dyson.co.uk/accessories/variant-accessories.aspx?pid=DC56-dyson-hard

Vacuum head wont draw

Hi Ken, it's Jack at Dyson.

If your DC24 doesn't seem to be picking up via the cleaner head, it's worth checking the motorised brush bar is rotating when the machine is turned on and reclined into the vacuuming position.

If not, you'll need to reset it following the steps shown in the video below. Use something like the eraser-end of a pencil to press the red reset button - you should hear and feel a click when you press it firmly enough.

If you'd like further advice from our experts when you've given this a try, please contact us directly so we can take some details. You can reach us on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

Hi, my Dyson DC35 Mini Motorized Tool quit spinning after two months. How to fix it? Thanks!

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

I'm sorry to hear the Mini motorised head isn't working correctly. If you haven't already checked it for any obstructions it would be worth doing this - make sure there are no threads or hair wrapped around the brush bar.

If this doesn't resolve the issue we'll need to take you through some quick checks to determine whether the fault is with the Mini motorised head or the main body of the machine. Once we've pinpointed the fault we can confirm if we're able to resolve this under the terms of the machine's 2-year guarantee.

Please give us a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US), when you have your machine to hand.

We'll look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes,

Jack

Power head to my compact dyson just stopped working and i have power all the way to the connection

Hi its Darran at Dyson.

The Turbine head on the DC11 range is not powered by a motor, it is air driven. If the performance of this tool has reduced, this is most likely caused by a dirty filter or a blockage in the head or the machine.

To clear, please visit our support section online at www.dyson.com.

If you have a different product that does have a motorised head, you will also be able to locate information on how to reolve this via the online support section.

I hope that this information is useful to you.

Kind regards
Darran
