busted lamp. please increase the volume of the tv even thought there is a black display. if a volume comes up then chances are the ccfl lamp is busted that is why you get black display.
Users will continually need to quickly change the volume on a TOMTOM units,
depending on the loudness of traffic noise, the radio or conversations.
Although there are no external volume controls, the volume on the ONE
can be easily accessed on screen by touching the bottom left corner of
the map display. Once the volume controller appears you just slide your
finger to increase or decrease volume. We found the audio levels a
little softer on this unit and had to set the volume to around 60% or
70% in order to clearly hear it.

Hi Folks....
If you are talking about the Quick Launch buttons of the Notebooks from where we usually increase, decrease or mute the Volume, the lights will be still and will not increase or decrease with the increase or decrease in Volume.
However, you do have a utility which should be preinstalled in Notebooks called HP Quick Touch which shows the bars on the Display when the volume is Increased or Decreased using the Quick Launch buttons. This application is not compatible with Windows Vista 64 bit edition.
The HP Quick Touch application is available for download from the link below :
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp38001-38500/sp38358.exe
Save the file in the Notebook and double click it once the download is completed to install the application.
Hope this helps....
Check volume icon on taskbar and ensure that MUTE is not ticked and then increase volume.
go to start/programs/accessories/entertainment/volume control- check all panels are working.
Then come back
