How to get Braun curling iron to heat?

Delilah, if it is a new curling iron and you plug it into a known good working outlet and does not heat up, it is defective. Return it to store for replacement or refund. If it is older and out of warranty, it is probably burnt out limit switch or may need rewired with new plug and cord(probably not cost effective, unless you can test and change)
Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

So many people make a copy of that iron maybe a local repair shop for tefal, black n decker, or another can do it. Taking things apart sometimes is not worth the trouble of putting back together. sometimes it requires special tools. call around first before you try it yourself

How to repair aan electrical iron

Hi,

If the iron doesn't heat, make sure power is on to the outlet, check the electrical chord, and check the thermostat and replace if necessary.

If the iron heats but steams improperly, inspect the soleplate and clean the vents and flush sediment out of the steam chamber .
If the iron produces too much or too little heat, test the electrical chord . Also test and, if needed, adjust calibration of the thermostat.
If the iron does not spray properly, inspect and clean the nozzle.
If the iron leaks or spits, clean the steam vents, nozzle, and tank.
If the iron sticks to fabric, clean or repair the sole plate. If the iron stains fabric, clean the sole plate, clean the tank with a commercial cleaner, and use distilled or filtered water.

The tools you will need are

  • Screwdrivers
  • Toothpicks or pipe cleaners
  • Sewing needle
  • Commercial electric iron cleaning solution or vinegar and water
  • Commercial sole plate cleaner or baking soda and water
  • Steel wool
  • Emery cloth

Rowenta dg980

Hi,

I found out that you do not need to remove the security torx screws (you can get a set from Kragen's Auto Supply or Harbor Freight Tools); don't mean to advertise, but they have decent prices for any "Do It Yourselfer' arsenal." Use a wooden popsicle stick and gently pry the soft rubber cover from the front (on either side) toward the cord end, just enough to access the trigger/control switch assy from the top. Good luck and keep in touch.

Hair Dryer cord has electrical shortage

IF you take off about a inch of wire from the plug and re-wire it [somtimes with new plug also] make sure to remember the fuse and this should do the trick.
