Mine cracked and I ordered a replacement shipped overnight. I can't get a repair person out before Christmas. Is it easy to do it myself?

You will have to replace the top.
Check your owners manual, you should have a 5 yr warranty against cracks if it was not due to something being dropped on it or improper fit in the cabinet. The warranty will cover the top but you will have to pay the labor to change it.
You need to quit using it until it is repaired to keep spills from getting into the elements and burning them out.

A small crack, turns into a big crack, Short of ordering a new piece of glass, there is no "fix" sorry. YOu can continue to use it, but eventually it will run across the cook top, and then shatter the glass... Better be safe than sorry.

I have a whirlpool drop in ceramic stove and a burner isnt working. i had a repair man come and he was trying to pry the stove up but was having trouble because the person that insatlled it years ago...
When you dont replace the ceramic top that ios cracked could cause issues in your circuit board. The best thing t do is buy a new stove. The parts nad labor along is going to cost you about the same price as a new one.
