Manual or electric pasta maker?

I don't know whether I should buy a manual pasta machine or an electric one.

Which one do you think I should buy?

It is depend on your application... electric machine issuitable for fast food shops, supermarkets and canteens. High efficiency and simple operation. The hand-crank pasta machines are definitely a lot cheaper.

Both have their advantages and disadvantages in terms of features, ease of use, cleaning, and quality of pasta. The hand-crank pasta machines are definitely a lot cheaper and give you an authentic experience in making your own pasta at home. The many pasta makers really enjoy the process of cranking out their own pasta so don't think that an electric pasta machine will get you better tasting pasta.

I say go manual, later you can switch to automatic.

I need a manuel for ampia tipo lusso model # 110 pasta maker non electric

Go to the manufacturers web site and see if they list some sort of "down loads". If not google it by model number followed by the word manual & see what you get. You may need to pay for one if the manf. website doesn't support the product any more.

PS: call them and ask them to send you a manual & instructions

Here is recall info that that anyone with a Pasta Express X2000, X3000 and X4000 may want to check out. Also, you should be able to request a manual at the phone number listed in this message:

CPSC, Creative Technologies Corp. Announce Recall to Replace Lids on Pasta Machines

WASHINGTON, D.C. - In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Creative Technologies Corp. of Brooklyn, N.Y., is voluntarily recalling about 50,000 pasta machines to replace some of their lids. When the safety cutoff switch on the lid does not activate, consumers' fingers can be severely injured if their hand is placed into the mixing bowl.

CPSC and Creative Technologies are aware of 11 incidents of the machine unexpectedly turning on, resulting in nine injuries including cut, crushed and severed fingers.

The lid replacement program involves the Takka Pasta and Dough machine (model X1000), and the Pasta Express machines (models X2000, X3000 and X4000). Only pasta machines that have serial numbers up to 78209 are subject to this replacement program. The model and serial numbers are located on a label on the bottom of the machine. "Pasta Express TM by CTC" or "Takka Pasta and Dough by CTC" is on the front of the machine. The pasta machines are beige or white. Some machines have chrome-plated front panels. Through this voluntary recall, Creative Technologies will provide consumers with a replacement lid.

The machines are sold in cardboard boxes identifying the model of the machine. A photograph of the machine is on the front of the box.

Department stores, mail order catalogs and warehouse clubs nationwide sold the pasta machines from 1999 to present for between $90 and $200.

Consumers should stop using the pasta machines immediately and call IHW, Inc. (formerly Creative Technologies) at (718) 492-8400. The company will help consumers determine whether their pasta machine is subject to this replacement program and, if necessary, will provide a free replacement lid.

Originally issued November 25, 1999
