SOURCE: Projector projects red screen.

My take on this...if that pin was *shorted* to another pin in the connector and not just bent, you could be looking at a damaged video input section. The pins in the video connector consist of the 3 color signals(red--green--blue), their individual grounds, and syncing. If this has indeed happened, which is *VERY* easy to do, the projector must be repaired by a service facility.

SOURCE: when i power up my projector the screen projects

Hello Lvhrj, Hi!, the projector unit has basically two circuit boards, one for the main board, that controls the lens, lamp, blower fans, and projector circuit controls, the second one is the power supply board, since as you mention, there is power on the projector, I suspect the problem is on the mainboard, Servicing this type of board is no nonsense, double sided and its way beyond our experience, but we do replace the entire main board, so the only solution is to replace the main board, this requires tech knowledge, if you are not that kind of person, I suggest you let the experts do it for you, call your service center, or your dealer.

Can hear sound but cannot see picture

Hi, if your LCD projector turns on and projects light with sound but not the picture on your computer screen, first make sure the projector is plugged into your computer. If it is, check your computer display settings. Go to "Control Panel" and "Settings" or "Windows Setup." Select "Display." Make sure it's set to appear on your laptop screen and the the projector screen. Most laptops have a "Fn" key dedicated to changing the output display setting.

If your projector turns on but emits no light or picture, replace the projector's bulb, often called the lamp. Most have a life of between 2,000 and 6,000 hours. Your projector may warn you when the lamp life is about to expire, although some models simply stop working when the lamp needs replacing.

Thank you.

Hi--my new Vivitek D5 projector is not connecting to my Macbook. I have a mini DVI converter attached to a vga to DVI video adapter, but the projector can't "find" the source.

Please check your port with another source to confirm the working of the PC. Now also try to see if the projector connects with another PC. This will confirm the culprit as it is possible that there is a signal mismatch to the source input and hence not detected.

Source not found I am using an Acer Aspire One

Make sure you are using ports other than the USB port. Vivitek Service indicates that at least some of their projectors do not use the USB port for input. "The USB port is not in input port. This is used for service only. Please use another input port such as RGB input. Regards, Vivitek Customer Service

Hope this helps.

You can go to the Vivitek website and they have a handy distance calculator to help you know the correct distance to place your projector from the screen to achieve an appropriate size.

I am not able to get sound out of the projector. I have the proper cords attached. I am able to get sound from the lap top. Help

The Vivitek D825MS Projector does not have any speakers of its own. You have to use an outside source for sound. Another set of speakers connected to the laptop might help, or if you have access to a plug in through a stereo or mixer to take the sound from your computer to the speakers hooked up to the stereo or mixer, that is ideal.

Hope this helps.

My Vizio LCD TV screen fades to dark. Sound stays on.

I w having this same issue when watching a Blu-Ray disc. I found it to be dependent upon what picture mode the TV was set to. By this I mean certain picture modes would cause the TV to dim during dark scenes of a movie. Changing the picture mode helped a lot.
