Can you upgrade the processor on a acer m3400

Put a Phenom 1095 6 core in mine and it worked Upgraded the PS just in case. Now seem to have a BIOS problem though probably unrelated. If you google acer m3400 data sheet you can find the specs.

Can Amd AM2+ GEFORCE7050MM v2 mobo able to support AM3 Processor?

Yes the mainboard should be able to support an AMD AM3 CPU, however the mainboard will not be able to make as good use out of the CPU as an AM3 mainboard would.

AM2+ will use DDR2 800MHz RAM whereas AM3 uses DDR3 1333MHz or higher for example.

It's specification tells us that it is supported as it is labeled AM2+ the + stands for AM3 CPU's as well.

Take care and happy upgrade!

The processor is irrelevant when it comes to the BIOS. You need to know what kind of motherboard you have.

Does anyone know if I am able to mount an AMD Athlon 64 X2 (3800+ Socket AM2) on the H8SMI-2 ?? For me it is not clear described on the website of Supermicro.

no, this board is only compatible with AMD Opteron 1000 Series AM2/AM3 Cpu's. This board is designed for a server environment, hence the use of the Opteron CPU which is primarily used for server systems. Your CPU is an Athlon series which is mainly for home/business use and will not work with this board.

You have a socket 754 motherboard. That socket had been in use for just 2 years over 5 years ago. Obsolete.
Get a new  AM3 socket one and a new processor.

Hello again, Upgrading CPU's

Your board supports socket AM2 CPUs the fastest of which is the AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ dual-core processor at 3.1 GHz.

Your motherboard does not accept socket AM3 CPUs.
