A 591 is a flat bed industial machine, that came out with a clutch motor. Unless it has been changed to a servo motor. A clutch motor when turned on will will spool up to speed and you will hear it run. A servo motor makes no sound until you move the foot leaver.
If you hit the switch and nothing happens even when you move the foot feed, check your electical connections.

I am looking for details of how to control the sewing speed of a singer sewing machine model 201K - Register No.429906

the speed is controlled by the foot peddle unless you have the knee lever type. if you have the knee lever there is a handle stored in the bentwood top plug it in the hole on the front of the case and it controls the resister under the panel at the far right of the machine case. although these work i usually wire around them as i prefer a foot speed controller

Can i use a clear synthetic motor oil to lubricate my Singer industrial sewing machine?

Because I expect you are using it for home use I will tell you this. Users of this machine may have a mess from the oil pan. Take the oil pan off. A man I worked on began to use synthetic grease on a regular time frame such as 100000 stitches. This prevents the mess from the oil pan. It appears as a powder but will adhere to the gears. I wouldn't use synthetic motor oil because it doesn't stick too well. Anyway, this is only a suggestion. The nice thing about this is it comes in a spray can at Walmart

Where can I buy a replacement foot controller and power cord for my singer confidence 7463?

Years ago, my second Singer [760] foot control "went", out of warranty. Singer weren't very good with parts for older models, and the sewing machine guy had to find another foot control and I had to do a lot of rewiring.

Anyway, if you go Online and look for your local Singer stockist, the part number should be there.

I purchased singer 591 from a commercial manufacturing comp. About 3 years ago for my fiance to use. She doesn't need it anymore so I'll sell it. Thing is I can't turn this machine on to show potential...
