EWR20V5 loads but get "error message" Using Verbatum 4xDVD+RW disc with downloaded pictures from PC using Windows 10. Recorder works and video displayed on other discs.

Unfortunately, the EWR20V5 does not handle DVD +R or DVD +RW discs for recording. It can play back some of these discs, when recorded and finalized on another recording device. However, it may not recognize some DVD +R/+RW discs at all. This recorder recognizes all DVD -R/-RW discs. This is a common manufacturing design for DVD/VCR recorders.

See the first page of the Quick Guide for the EWR20V5 for the disc limitations: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/46971/Emerson-Ewr20v5.html . I hope this helps.

New Go.video R6530 put DVD+R disc in shows no disc

you can only use imation or verbatim DVD+R. No other DVD's will work. I use exclusively the IMATION DVD's. Easily recognized by the logo on the disc package, it looks like the old movie reels.

Disc error message when load DVD

Are you loading to play or to record?
Commercial DVDs should play.
DVDs for recording may not be recognized by your drive. First make sure that the disc is blank. You must insert a blank disc of the proper format: DVD-R or RW, DVD+R or RW. Even with the proper format, some brands may not behave the same way as other brands.

Recording

sometimes this happens. now. the dvd you put in was it rewritable. a friend could not run his dvd recorder until i gave him a dvd+r rw disc in and lo, it worked.
some dvds have this function without telling you, perhaps it is in the instructions in small print.
also, try a straight dvd+r disc, not a rewrite. experiment with other discs because some will not see cheap discs but expensive ones.
i have dvd that does not even reconise a dvd, but when i wish to burn a dvd, i use that one because it is the best.
strange isnt it...

Loading DVD-RW discs

My recorder has stopped accepting NEW DVD-RW discs and ejects them.
There is no problem loading DVD-R (new or recorded)or loading previous recorded DVD-RW, initializing and re-recording
I have tried several different DVD-RW makes. Puzzling??
