Use the 5-way button DOWN / UP to move the underline mark to the book you want to delete.
Press RIGHT on the 5-way button. A menu for the book opens.
Use the 5-way button DOWN to the menu entry "Delete This Document" for books you copied yourself to the Kindle, "Remove from Device" for content purchased in the Amazon Kindle shop,or "Delete This Sample" for sample excerpt downloaded from the shop.
Press CENTER on the 5-way to delete. Note, content purchased from the Amazon Shop is still listed in the overview page under "Archived Items" after removal from your Kindle, so it can easily be downloaded again.
