Your description sounds like plumbing from before bacteria was discovered. The output from a Saniflo macerator should be sent to a foul drain or cesspit and not a rainwater drain.
Some authorities allow local rainwater runoff into foul drains but this situation is gradually being designed out.
Could be your Saniflo installation didn't meet building regulations when it was installed. The fact it has been working fine for 2 years doesn't count for anything if it doesn't.
Shut off water supply and check where the leak is. Loosen the joint , reconnect it securely and reclamp. Before reclamping spray Stop Leak around the joint. Slowly open water supply. Goodluck.
Rick: It sounds like the grinder is bound up in the unit. Hair can get wrapped around the grinder blade and freeze it up. Take the unit out and remove the grinder blade and see if that fixes the problem. New grinder blades are available from Saniflow USA.
Mine did this, have you tried using a drain cleaner to break up any blockage? I had to unblock the outlet pipe by connecting a garden hose and flushing it out.
I have a question, I have a saniplus no problems hooking it up filled the tank and then flushed it..On the discharge end I had a small about of water puddling up at the pressed in rubber fitting. Every clamp was tight not sure what the reason is any ideas. I thought about silcone around the rubbber seal between the lid.
it is generally not allowed under the water regs to discharge waste water into anything other than a drain.I would suggest you install a discharge pump, typically the saniflow type which will allow you to run the waste across the room and discharge the waste into the vanity basin drainage.Should you choose to install this be aware of the waste pipe configurations shown by the instructions
