SOURCE: I am getting a "read error" and don't know why!

The Kodak machine has corrupted your card. The fastest way to solve this is to format the card. However, you WILL lost all your pictures!!

If you want to recover your files on a corrupted card, you can download a software to do the job. A very good and free one is PC Inspector Smart Recovery. You can download it here:

http://www.snapfiles.com/get/smartrecovery.html

You can get some detailed info on how to use the software here:

http://www.ofzenandcomputing.com/zanswers/60

After recovering your files, you can format your card. If it still gives you an error, you will have to replace it.

Good luck!

What model Kodak EasyShare camera? Some of them only work with SD cards, not with SDHC cards. The same applies to kiosks. Make sure the slot is marked "SDHC' and not simply "SD".

Does anyone know about Kodak picture kiosks

The 1400 in not compatable with the kiosk software. You need a 805 printer, or a 8110, or even a model 8800. Only those will work. Check here:
