It's been a few years since I programmed a 624, but here goes.

IIRC the 624 selects lines in 1,2,3 order vs. the 824's 321. Dial "9" from the intercom and you can verify this.

The system has 3 modes of operation when it comes to outside line access, No preference (gives you intercom dial tone) Idle line preference (gives you the same as if you dialed "9", and specific line preference.

From the phone, do not pick up the handset but press PROGRAM or use the set switch to program, dial 1 1 for none, 1 2 for idle, or 1 3 x for a specific line. Any of those commands would be followed by STORE.

Put the system back in SET or press the PROGRAM button to exit.

With any line preferenc, you have to press Intercom to dial internally or page. If your specific line is busy, you won't get anything when you pick up the phone or press SP PHONE. It also disables Last Number redial if the line is busy.

Did I mention that I don't use it :-) Of course, I don't use the 624 either.

KX-T7431 try to dial out and dispaly says CO Not assigned, I cannot answer calls either!!!! Hellllppppp

What has happened is that the CO1 CO2 etc buttons have not been programmed to dial the access code for an outside line. You can do this manually by dialling 9 then the number you wish to call. You need to enter the programing mode from the default extension usually EXTN 20 or 21. You need to go into the options and assign the digit 9 and a pause (P). The system will allow you to set different options such as if someone is on CO1 and another user dials 9 from another extension, the system will then assign the next free exchange line, again this must be programmed via the default extension. Let me know if you need further help.

By Default Panasonic - 824 CO1, CO2, CO3 are working. now i add 2nd card How can i assign CO4, CO5, CO6?

Lines are assigned in program 400. Normally, they are assigned by default so someone had to work very hard to unnasign them even though you didn't have the hardware.

Determining which CO you get when pressing 9

Set outgoing line preference.
Or simply swap the CO1 and CO2 line plugs.
The plug from your service provider that enters in CO1 put it in CO2 port and vice versa. You may need alittle config as well.

How to program ring tone on KX-T7730 for each CO? For example I want the inbound call on CO1 and CO2 to ring differently, and for the call for CO3 not to ring ... thank you !

Analog Panasonic phones have one "ring tone". You program it to ring or not ring, but the tone is exactly the same. Ringing programming is in SYSTEM programming in the 40x's, depending on the cabinet. In a TA series, inbound ringing is program 408 409 and 410.

We have the panasonic KX-TA 824 with the 3CO x 8ext we have disa on on CO1. We are trying to route the incoming calls to CO2 & CO3 to live the main number available. How can we acomplish this.

By calling the telephone line provider or going into the web interface and using Call Forward Busy to CO2 and CO3. Normally, hunt groups are established by the telco or the "poor man's way" with CF-B.

How do I program the phone to ring on an incoming call? The ringer is on.

The solution will depend on why the phone is not ringing. Do you have a good cable? (Can you get a dial tone and make outgoing phone calls?) If you don't have a dial tone, use another phone to check if the phone is the problem or if the jack is at fault.

Next is the phone forwarding calls or in the "do not disturb" mode.

If the problem is one of the above, which model of the Main Unit do you have, KX-TA624 or KX-TA1232?

If the unit is in the "do not disturb" mode, to cancel: pick up the handset, press Program then 0 followed by # with the TA624. For the other model, press Program followed by 0 . Then hang up the handset. For this the manual says press the FWD/DND button not the Program button. I'd check both.

To cancel Forwarding, except for Follow Me Forwarding, pick up the handset, press FWD/DND and then 0 and # (TA624) or 0 (TA1232) then hang up the handset. To cancel Follow Me Forwarding: pick up the handset, press FWD/DND then 8 followed by the extension number. Then press # for the TA624 and hang up; just hang up the handset for the TA-1232.

I hope this helps.

I have a panasonic kx-ta624.I have a anolog line coming into port CO1 and feeds all the jacks my problem is i can make calls but cant recive them. I am not using panasonic phones but was told the system...

You have to have ONE 7x3x phone plugged into Jack 01 in the system or you don't stand much of a chance to make this work.
There is no USB interface to program a 624 and the ringing is controlled by programming. By default, turning off the system will tie CO1 to Jack 01 in power fail transfer. If you believe the line is functioning, then plug it into CO1, a phone into Jack 01 and call your number. If it rings, then you have connectivity, now puwer up the system and do the same thing. If it doesn't work, then you need to program the box.
