Sony Ericsson w580i. Dropped it screen blank and calls dont work

Probably not easy or cheap. However, my wife broke the flip on her w580i and e-mailed Sony Ericsson and they sent her a new one free. Try e-mailing them or calling them if their site has a number -- it couldn't hurt.

if u had dropped the mobile then there is a chance for ur display to get damaged.....check ur display.....u ll get displays for cheap rates around 600 bugs.... regards

your screen is not crack but your lamp is out, you need to replace the whole LCD screen.

the sim card probably fried or its probably the phone. thry upgrading to a new one

Ok, my phone had the same problem. I took the face plate off and the screen out and there's actually a little connector that connects to a board behind the screen(can come unplugged for replacement). I fiddled around a little with it and it worked fine. about a week or 2 later it happened again. I tried fixing it again and it would just flash white>black>lines>white, repeat. I know my phone's taken a bit of abuse, dropped down a road, soaked in rain, but it always worked after. These phone screens aren't meant to take abuse. Problem; the phone screen died. Solution; get a new screen.

More than likely you will need to replace the LCD screen. The backlight may have burned out making it blank or it the LCD connector may have come loose.

A new LCD screen runs about 15 dollars shipped from ebay.

The W580i LCD is very easy to replace.

Try reseating the LCD screen connector. It is really easy to open the W580i and check the lcd.

i have the same problem and sony said to get a new phone. mine almost caught firte so for your own protection i suggest you dont use it.

hmm.. i have a sony ericsson w580i and i dropped mine in a lake a year and a half ago, after 3 days of airing it worked just fine. My situation may just be a fluke but i would need more details to find a solution to your problem, such as why would you think your phone has water damage?

you may have dropped your mobile phone accidently. sony ericsson mobile phones have such disadvantages.please give it with warrenty/guarrenty card to an autherised mobile shop.they will repair it
