I always stitch in the ditch with my regular clear plastic pressure foot so I can see where I am stitching and keep the stitches falling into the seam gap (the ditch).
Sewingpartsonline.com have a "stitch in the Ditch" foot and it looks like it has a wide slot. It seems to have a nice metal rudder to line up in the seam line and that looks central so you'd still be stitching right in the middle of the foot I'd say if you used this one.
