Model:OGD21102 MICROWAVE IS NOT ALLOWWING ME TO COOK MY FOOD. The microwave says Food and that is it. Will not heat, I can push a time and it says Food. What should I do.

My microwave is giving me a very hard time with completing a meal. I have tried my best to fix the problem. It is only 1 year old and I barely use it. This problem has been going on now about three months after I got it.

If opening and closing the door fails to clear the fault , then your door switch's have a fault in them , this is not too uncommon on microwaves , as most of them have three separate door switches ,(its a safety thing ) as the last thing in the world you'd want to happen is running it with the door open . make sure the door seals properly and there's nothing down in the cracks (even the hinge side) that keeping it from closing properly , I once had a pealing factory label do this , so it doesn't take much to trip the door switch

It not cooling

If you're talking about a microwave oven:
[1] plug the mains cord in to the wall socket
[2] switch the socket on
[3] put food to cook on glass turntable, never use empty oven.
[4] close oven door fully until it clicks
[5] set the power
[6] press 'start' or turn the timer-dial,depending on your model.
It will start to cook immediately.
The humming sound is the energy heating the food in timed bursts of power.
If nothing happens or it won't cook, post clear description of fault with problem, make, model.
Hope this helps,
Clive.

Not heating

Hello

Power Supply

Check whether there is a proper power supply. Look to see whether the cord is connected to a grounded 3-prong outlet and the cord is fully plugged in. If the electrical system is built-in and no power cord is visible, replace or reset the household fuse or circuit breaker.

Microwave Functions

Some basic microwave operational steps may affect whether the microwave is heating. Open and close the microwave door, as the unit will not function with the door open, and push "Stop/Clear" to cancel any previous settings, such as the timer, which do not heat the microwave oven.

Setting the Microwave

Once the power to the microwave has been reset, or verified as working, and the microwave is ready to run, select a new cook cycle and press "Start" to see if the microwave begins to run and cook food as expected. Allow the food to cook for the alloted time and then open the microwave door and check to see if the food has cooked or heated. Choose a longer cooking time and restart the microwave if food is heating but is cooking slowly.

Repair

If all efforts to troubleshoot the function and power to the microwave still do not get the appliance heating food as expected, there may be a repair issue that needs to be addressed. Contact professional technician for advice.

My ifb microwave oven is getting hot outside while

Normally when u cook food in microwave the fod is cooked by microwaves, which means the heat is generated with in food. The temperature inside is never too hot and all the heat produced is absorbed with in the food.

On the other hand when the grill is switched on, a separate heatting element gets switched on. You can see this red hot element on the top side of inside of microwave. the heat from this element gets transferred to food through air circulation. But partof heat also gets transferred to the walls of microwave oven. This is the reason the wall feel hot during use of grill.

As i see ther is no problem with the microwave itself. Jut kep delicate thngs a bit away from the microwave.

Everything works...Except for actually heating the food

It has a bad magnetron. This is the tube that provides the microwaves to heat the food. Not too easy to replace yourself but it can be done. Cost of magnetron is probably less than $50 or $60.

Microwave does not heat food placed in the center of the turntable. Leaves a cold spot in the middle of the food.

This is normal. That's why I always recommend to my customers that the food be placed slightly off-center on the turntable. An analogy I refer to is stirring paint: If you stir paint with a stick by simply rotating the stick in the center of the can, it's far less effective than pulling the stick around an imaginary circle halfway bewteen the center and the edge.
