It sounds like the drum is frozen. The squealing is from the motor slipping on the belt. There may also be something keeping the belt from tightning. Try these links:

There is something causing the drive motor to bog down. This means the fan isnt spinning fast enough and the whole unit is overheating. Check for anything around the edges of the drum, coins keys etc. The squeal is the belt from the drum being stuck. See how hard it is to turn by hand.
Your drum bearings are wearing out or the belt driving it is spinning. The drum could be binding up and causing it to slow down and brake itself. The belt will continue run at regular speed and cause a loud noise as at literally slides across the drum. Kind of like spinning your tires on the pavement.
Your problem could be a bad bearing...The drum rides in a bearing at the rear middle of unit..Its basically a plastic insert...When the dryer is first started the bearing will squeal until the plastic warms up..Normally you will hear the squeal at the back middle of dryer...Your problem may also be the belt tensioner...Again a plastic wheel with a metal bearing inside...Normally this squeal will be from start to finish..
if you can take your dryer apart, you'll have to take the drum out and lubricate the bearing that is located in the center under the drum while there check wellness of your heat element if located there. Anyway use high temp grease on this bearing looks more like a ball
You need to have you belt replaced. Over time the belt will strech. this causes the dryer to still spin but the belt will sometimes loose the grasp of the drum and cause the belt to spin only.
This happens because over time with heavy loads of towles and jeans pull down on the drum as it is being loaded. Than when in cycle the jeans will drop from the top to the bottom pulling aginst it even more..
the noise is coming from the drum axle bushing that allows the drum to spin on it's axle. Gain access to the rear of machine and apply some high temperature grease that is found in automotive parts stores to the bushing. run it while observing spinning drum at rear for any possible other problem where squeal can be found such as drum slides.
