Firmware update failure. DSP Stops at 90% and then it says 1-83 Error! All sounds just stoped working aswell and i have done several hardreset what does that error code mean? can i fix it?

Cannot be done since the firmware on your set is now corrupted. The DSP HDMI board is not accessible anymore .
ONKYO has this problem for some time now
while upgrading over the Ethernet, the system doesn't recognize the new software.
And the AVR stops responding.
At the moment am working on it .

Find a solution that solve my problem : go to US sony website and download the firmware 1.062 released on 7/12/2011. If you're in Europe you have to rename the zip file like this : A64U_1062.zip renamed to A64E_1062.zip

Then upload it to ES Utility and do the update. After half an hour, shut down your receveir (even if blinking) and restart.

Result, no more message error and everything work fine now! Firmware installed : 1.066 (!)

i think the firmware 1.065 released by sony in november was totally corrupted...

1st you disable the onboard sound card in BIOS level, then install/update the sound driver for Maddog Prowler 4.1 DSP soud card will solve your problem.

You CANNOT rollback firmwares once loaded, Firmwares are programs written within a CHIP inside the hardware.
You can rollback Drivers and update them also, but Firmwares are not of the same nature.

for example if you have a MP3 player that has a specific Firmware, the firmware is specifically programed to run that hardware(MP3 player), once you change the firmware the hardware will not be able to recognize the firmware and viceversa.

This could be a Hardware Issue, and there are also chances that your Firmware is buggy.
You need to Flash your Phone through USB Cable and a software call Phone XS++
SE phone Firmware has two parts.
Main Firmware which contains all the phone software. Main firmware file has the .mbn extension.
FS is a firmware which has settings and all other data like the default images and Ringtones and all other files that is used by phone. It has .fbn file extension.
Before you flash the main firmware make GDFS BACKUP. GDFS backup is very important and not to be missed. You also need to have USB Flash Drivers Installed.

After few sec when you turn on your receiver did you hear a click noise ? if yes your receiver is OK not in protection mode if no click noise is output protection in that case you must return where did you buy for service and update firmware a lot of update
However you can reset your receiver and debug the DSP section ( digital signal processor ) as follow
To reset
1. Press and hold down VCR/DVR button, then press STANDBY/ON button when the unit is Power on.
2. After " Clear " is displayed, the preset memory and each mode stored in the memory are initialized and will
return to the factory settings, and turn to Standby mode.
Now turn back on and check if it work or not and make sure check input mode such as analog or coaxial or optical input if stil no sound then debug DSP as follow
To set in DSP debug mode
1. Press and hold down DISPLAY button, then press STANDBY/ON button while the unit is powered ON.
The version number of m icroprocessor is displayed only for 3 seconds.
Main:
8 1.05/07903A
2. Press TONE+ button within 3 seconds above, the version number of 1st DSP is displayed.
DSP 1st:
SR8051:07601A
3. Press DISPLAY button while the 1st DSP version is displayed. The status of DSP and DIR will be displayed.

Press STANDBY/ON button.
Then unplug the unit for 30 sec then plug in it should work now if not you need to return it to 1 of the service center Onkyo in your town to repair it
