The Veloster may or, may not have a manufacturer installed security system. However, what the salesman is trying to sell you is an aftermarket vehicle security system at an inflated price. The vast majority of new car dealers sell aftermarket alarms and remote starters that are installed by an outside company that has a contract with the dealership. These same systems are available at various shops at retail price. The dealership talks you into buying these products by telling you that if you buy it from someone else that your manufacturer warranty will be voided. This is not true. Read magnusen-moss warranty act. I know this because I was the in house installer at several new car dealerships, installing alarms. remote starters, dvd, back up sensors, navigation systems, stereos, etc. for over seven years.
Now, with that being said, not all retail aftermarket shop are the same. Do your research. Read what others have to say about these companies before making a decision to have them install something on your nw vehicle.

Hello again, to turn off alarm with out remote, trace wires to the alarm horn, undo positive lead.

This might sound stupid, but have you tried first replacing battery in remote, this could cause this instantly, just like a TV remote. First try that. Hope that solves it right away.

Hello my name is Israel and I will help you. You can still use the alarm but you will have to do a couple of steps. Enter the vehicle. The alarm will sound. Insert key and turn to the 'run" position. Push or set the override button and alarm will turn off. The remote should be easy enought to replace. If you want to replace it, let me know and I will try my best to get a remote for you.
