Visio TV and Direct TV remote

On your Visio TV remote control there will be a Source button or Input button. Press it & on your TV screen select HDMI 1 or HDMI 2. See the TV to see how the HDMI cable is connected from TV to Set Top Box. Now take the other remote control i.e. Sony Universal remote in your hand. Press mute & Select simultaneously. A blue light will blink twice, Immediately release the buttons & enter the code. You have to be extremely fast in doing this.
Following are few codes which you can try:
002, 000, 011, 080, 111, 006, 071, 128, 1904, 925, 0000, 0834, 0810, 1685, 1786, 1032, 1972.
Check the Visio TV manual for the make of your TV & model no & if code is printed. Then contact Visio TV manufacturer or retailer for the Visio TV code to enter & synchronize with the Sony Remote Control.

Hi, In the direct tv settings you have to set it back to the vizio, direct TV builds in this remote programming feature, of course the TV needs to be on showing the direct TV menu first,

Our Visio 42" flat screen TV did the same thing. It didn't happen that often but sometimes it would go darker or the sound would go off until I changed the channel or turned TV Off then back On. I contacted Visio through my warranty and they sent me a flash drive to install info on my TV. Did not fix the problems. A year later before warranty ended I contacted Visio again. They sent a huge box for me to pack my TV in to send to the warehouse where they fix everything. It took about 2 wks. to get it back. Worked fine for about 4 months and the problems continued. I will not buy another Visio TV. I found out that they had many problems with several models.

We can't give you the code without specific model numbers for both the TV and remote control. Try the codes for the Visio models that are listed in the manual. There is a good chance that Visio used the same coding system for more than one model. If that doesn't work, check the Internet support page for your remote control. It may have additional models listed, and one may apply if Visio used one of the other remote control systems on the market at the time your remote control was manufactured.

Visio TV codes: 004 or 031

Turn on the TV
1. Press [TV] button and [SEL] button simultaneously for 3 sec.
2. Point the remote controll toward the TV and enter code.
TV will turn off when correct code has been entered.
3. Store the code by pressing [TV]

could not find your brand at Directv.com but this may work: " You may still find a setup code that works for your device by stepping through the library codes in your remote. The following instructions will help you do this.
StepNSet
Set the "Mode Switch" to the desired mode such as TV for a Television.
Press and hold the "Mute" button and the "Select" button until the visible LED blinks twice.
Enter the code "991" followed by the "device number"
for Televisions
for "AUX 1" devices - VCRs or DVDs
for "AUX 2" devices - Audio
You can step through the setup codes for this mode by pressing the "Channel Up" key to go forward through the codes or pressing the "Channel Down" key to go back to the previous codes.

Direct Dish.... :p only outputs to your TV on channel 3 or 4. This leads to only using Direct's remote. I would suggest to try going over to DISH Network as their remote is much better and will work the TV......

Try these:

1. Press MENU on the remote control
2. Select Settings
3. Highlight Setup
4. Select Label Video Inputs
5. Select Video 7
6. Select None if available or
7. Leave the label blank

(duh)

I will post this answer just in case anyone else out there has this problem.

Press the button on the remote that says AV. The blue screen saying "no signal" disappears and you can watch videos without a server or antenna connection.

If the tv isn't listed on the on screen controls, you might want to check with Direct TV on getting hold of another remote that can be programmed. Sometimes software update are done to the tuners as well but usually there never done for adding new models to TVs.

One thing I never liked about Direc TV was I always had to update the TV tuners every two years because of new features.
