Came home after a storm, found our Centrex airconditioner beeping like crazy, used the remote to turn off airconditioner, but it keeps turning itself back on & keeps beeping, kept trying to turn off by remote control but no luck, so pulled out the fuse from the electricity box, no other way to turn off the unit??
Call for a service technician as a board has been affected by the power surge
Is there anyway we can fix it ourselves? My husband was into electronics for his work! Thought you might have an idea which board to possibly look at or what component might have gone? No schematics with the manual, & not sure how to take off the top cover to get to things?
I have been on the net searching for a schematic diagram to help you but there is not one as there is no centrex manufacturer any more
forum replies say that they went bust in 2013
Not much help for you I'm afraid but unless your husband is into electronics big time , the only advice that would be any good would be to invest in a better brand ,like kelvinator or mitsubishi split systems
there are a number of systems coming onto the market from hardware shops that have names you might be familiar with but have no service back up as the companies are already in liquidation and the stock is being flogged off by the receivers
If you can find a service agent for the brand ( probably from a retailer who sold the product) you may be able to get a copy of the schematics before he throws them out
Thank you for your help! It is much appreciated :)
one last thought occurred to me
Kelvinator use LG boards in the air conc systems and it occurred to me that the centrex lot may nor have designed their own boards but bought board lots from a electronic manufacturer like carrier, LG, AKAI ( who is also bust but being distributed by hardware ( Bunnings)
so if you can find the board part number ( printed on the board) you may be able to cross reference it to another supplier
