A silly suggestion is to plug in a different guitar and see if the problem still happens. Have you checked the link your using to connect to the amp? For example is it a faulty lead, a loose jack plug on the end of the lead or an intermittent signal from a wireless connection? You could also check the pickups on the actual bass guitar.
Pick ups don't often cause issues but they can become faulty because of age, corrosion, short circuits and if they're badly fitted.

Check the wiring and also bad connections to the speaker first, then to the crossover connections next.

that because you have a loose ground to your amp or not the right size wire but check your ground on the amp it will overheat and turn off to protect itself .

How new is the amp?

A single faulty solder can do that...I'd try returning in to the seller.
Have you tried a different amp with the same equipment?

Sounds like a wiring issue.

Please note that on the first schematic above, the power amp schematic is way down beyond the parts list and layout of the preamp section... keep scrolling. ALSO the powoer amp shows a real WIERD connection where the output transistors drive against ground and the center tap of the power supply transformer for the power amp portion then bounces around with the audio output... that is a wierd connection but it is possible.

Connecting the CD player should NOT have caused any damage if they were power from the same receptacle and both had grounded plugs OR a walkman type was used which had no external power to it. Power transformers RARELY fail. Check if it has a fuse that has blown BUT do not replace the fuse until the cause of it blowing is found. Switches on a lot of these are POOR and they do fail.

Better way... Connect the main speakers via the Speakons and then put a Power Subwoofer to one of the Monitor connections IF you are not using both stage monitors. If you need to kill the lows to the mains, use the EQ in the PMP-3000.

Use the EQ that is USUALLY on the subwoofer to kill the highs to the sub.

Lot less cables and hardware.

REMEMBER for equipment safety, power ALL interconnected equipment from the same source be it a receptacle or power distribution system.

Powering parts of a system from receptacles strewn around a room is asking for trouble of ground loops and ground faults.

I just fixed my bass amp with a similar problem last week: the problem is related to a loose connection on the PCB board (likely).
A bass amp is a rough place for circuitry: the low rumble and power shake a bass amp more than a guitar amp.
In my case, the power transistors needed to be re-soldered and then the grounding bolts and screws needed to be removed and cleaned because the connection was bad. Remember that when two different metals needed for an electric connection are toughing, there is the likelyhood that corrosion WILL happen.
My bass amp did basically the same thing yours did: sounded good at low volumes, but at higher volumes it would act up.
In short, there is nothing you can do (unless you are a repair person): you need to take it to a local music shop and have a tech fix the intermittant contact problem: someone who knows what they are doing should only take an hour at most.
