I just bought Microsoft Office 2010 so I could open some attachements from an email. I still can't get the files to open, something about free disk space. the file is a zip file. Please help, I

Sounds like your hard drive is filled to capacity. If so, defrag your HD. Are you running other applications. If so, your memory (RAM) may not be able to handle the input/output operations. Disable services and start up programs in system config.

Open the zipped file with Internet Explorer only.

Unable to see data on Zip Disks

You are saying that you used zip drive in 1998. i want to tell you that in 1998 the processors were of old versions.therefore, you need to install windows 95,only then you will be able to retrieve your data.
As the only reason to be found is that you used win 95 in 1998,now you are using win xp,the files you stored on your drive were only supported by win 95,hence you need to install win 95.
THANK YOU. hope you get a well experience on www.fixya.com

Won't read disk, even though been using successfully for some time.

If you refer to a single disk then it may well have been corrupted or damaged. If it now does not read any disk, it is likely that the read head is dirty from dust or materials off the disks that have adhered to it. There are cleaning disks for the Zip drive. Check out your zip disk supplier for one of these if it is a generalised problem.

There is also a utility to recover files from the zip disk
FloppyZip Disk Rescue is an easy-to-use tool to rescue corrupt file fromFloppy disk and ZIP disk or other peripheral devices. It fast scansdisk sectors, rescues the damaged files and copies the correct data tohard disk as possible as it can. The program is especially effectivefor corrupted digital multimedia files, audio, video, image files,MPEG, AVI, RM, MP3, JPEG etc, and for damaged document and text files..

I can not open a zip file that has been paid for.

I find it odd that you got the zip version for the same price as the disk.

Did you download the zip and try to extract it? What format is the zip file and are you using a file extractor that's compatible with it? Is the zip file password protected?

I know these all seem like silly questions, but sometimes people think that the zip can be opened within the email and aren't aware that there are different formats. Password protected zip files can be unlocked with the password and in some cases there are tools online that can do it for you if you don't know the password. Unfortunately, these applications will come up as a virus on your computer because what the do is check the algorithm of your file and extract the password and the file. By extracting the password, the virus protection looks at it as being a hacker tool, which in reality it is, but not for the wrong reasons.

Ok. Now on to the next part of your question.

If you've already contacted the seller and they've chosen to ignore you, there's a good likelihood that they just scammed you.

The reason I say this, is because any reputable person/business would honor your request for the disk right away or at the very least check the zip file to make certain that they had indeed sent you a good file.

At this point in the game, I'd suggest you file a dispute against them with PayPal.

PayPal will monitor the activity of the dispute that has to be settled within a certain time that they set and if it's not resolved they keep it on file and is a reflection against the sellers account.

An email is sent to the seller directly from PayPal so it can't be ignored or they can't say that they weren't aware of the dispute.

When someone makes a purchase through them the account will show that the seller has an unsettled dispute against their account and will generally set off the bells and whistles that this person isn't worth dealing with.

If there are to many unresolved disputes against the account, PayPal will limit or freeze the account which means that the seller can't request money, send money or close down their account to remove funds.

This is PayPal's way of protecting the consumer.

I hope this helps and you can get this resolved as soon as possible.

All the best to you.
