How can I remove power button cable from control board?

I need to replace the Tcon board I have removed all the panel screws but in order to remove the back panel I must remove the power button cable. It appears I need to push in the outer plastic part and pull. However I am meeting a lot of resistance and I'm worried that may not be the way to do it. Any help would be appreciated

SOURCE: tcon board location

There are 2 hinged black retainers. Gently pry them up and the ribbons slide away from the board.

SOURCE: Hello, I have a Samsung LN-S4692D.

You cannot test the T-Con bd with a meter. However if you have the luxury of having another same model tv, you can install the bought T-Con bd and see if it is good or bad. Since you said the Menu and channel flashses, then I would replace the Main board.

Some of these sets use tabs inside the edge or gap of the cover--I use a thin putty knife to slide into the gap slowly and snap them loose working from left to right around the cover.

Screws it seems were not enough they had to do this.

Tcon board failed check the fuse on the board marked by the letter P on it check it is ok no screen can be the fuse has popped this works in milli amps. if a failing capacitor on main board or on power board it blows the fuse in the tcon board in the middle of the screen back you need to take all boards out and remove the cage mind the cables when doing this. unscrew the 4 screw on the silver case covering the t con board un clip the cables off the screen ( with finger lift the black/brown flaps from cable end up) carefully remove the cables from the tcon board, now looking at the tcon board you will see a row of resistors and one marked with P on it check this. using a meter. should read no resistance and if on buzzer on meter should buzz. if don't buzz, remove the fuse with soldering iron, replace with the same fuse from a nintendo ds they are the same blow rate. before turning on the tv when you put everything back check the capacitors on power board the 16 volt 1000uf check these for damage as this is one of the main areas to cause the tcon board fuse to blow. also on the main board there are 3 capacitors 2 the same size and one that stands up more check these as the power goes to these first before going to the tcon board side. you need to remove them to test them. if any problems with these replace them. when replaced and you have checked there is no faults you can see on any board then turn the tv on. should be fine then.

Advent t9307 power switch not working

Your laptop's power button sits directly on top of a device called a power button board. This is a small circuit board where all power and control buttons interface with your laptop's motherboard. The repetitive use of the power and control buttons can damage the power button board. Repairing your power button means removing and replacing the power button board, which requires partial disassembly of your laptop.

1.Power down your laptop. Unplug the AC power adapter and all external devices from the computer. Close the laptop's LCD panel and place the laptop face down. Rotate the laptop so the front opening edge is facing you. Remove the battery pack from its compartment on the laptop's bottom side.

2.Flip the laptop over, and pull open the display panel as far as possible. Use a thin, flat-head screwdriver to pry the keyboard cover from the laptop. The keyboard cover is the plastic piece situated above the keyboard assembly that houses the power button board.

3.Lift the keyboard cover out of the laptop slightly, and disconnect the cables extending from the power button board to the motherboard. Remove the keyboard cover from the laptop.

4.Place the keyboard cover face down on a flat surface. Remove the Phillips-head screws fastening the power button board to the cover, and remove it. If your speakers are situated inside the keyboard cover, disconnect the speaker cables from the power button board before removing it.

5.Place the new power button board inside the keyboard cover. Align the screw holes on the button board with the holes on the keyboard cover. Replace the Phillips-head screws fastening the button board to the keyboard cover. Reconnect the speaker cables to the button board, if necessary.

6.Reconnect the power button board's main cable to the motherboard. Place the keyboard cover back inside the slot above the keyboard assembly. Press down on the cover until it snaps into place. Replace the battery pack and reconnect all cables.
