Do you have cordless phones running on 2.4 Ghz ?
try changing the channel number setting on the router from auto to use at least 2 channels higher than auto was using.

Keeps dropping signal to iPhone & computer

Hello!

I am not able to locate a model 67, so I presume that is short name for it.

Can you look at the label on the bottom and get the full model name? Examples of Netgear model names are WRN2000.

As for the signal dropping, it is possible that the router needs a firmware update. I would suggest searching for a firmware download for the modal have.

Good luck!

Water inside the board

First, this router is probably toast. You could try drying the router out with silica gel or similar, else just replace it. This router goes for around $30 or less nowadays.

If you have nowhere else to put a router than outside where it will be subjected to the elements, then you need to get a weatherproofed box to put the router in. I would recommend keeping the router inside away from the elements. If you have signal problems, you may wish to try out a Wireless Signal Booster.

When onlinr playing a game it stalls during a game

this might just be that your using to many components online at the same time try shutting down anything else online or downloading of any sort and see if the issue continues, if your getting this wired and wireless it just sounds like you do not have the bandwidth to handle it all. If im wrong sorry. You could also try powering down router or even reseting it. and the modem maybe its just having issues with this unit. Sometimes they are finicky....

Sometimes the internet goes down. If I unplug the wireless router and plug it back up; it comes back up. We are using a Enhanced wireless router.

For some reason this happens with most models of routers, and it seems that they are getting a slight bit old so the signal might drop, but there might be some interference or traffic that is knocking the signal down. What you are doing should help but I think it might be time to get a new router, or try reseting this one to see if it helps. Please, if you do come back, can you look for a sticker on the device that has the model number and post it here?

I need to change the channel on my dlink 625 router..can u help?

I presume it's a cordless phone? If so, it's possible that it's interfering with the wireless signal. If that happens you will see the wireless connection being dropped - go into the wifi config utility and check how good the connection is. If this is the case, changing the channel may help. To do that, bring the router over to your PC and connect with an ethernet cable (just in case something goes wrong with the channel change and you lose the wireless signal.).

You need to find the "router homepage" in your web browser. If you don't know what it is, in windows click start -> run -> type "cmd" and press enter. In the command screen that pops up type "ipconfig" and press enter. It'll show you a few things. One should say "Default Gateway" followed by numbers.Write those numbers down (probably will be something like 192.168.1.254).

Open your web browser (IE, Firefox etc...) and enter the numbers. This will bring you to the router page. There should be an option like "Wireless" and under there you should see "change channel". It may be in the advanced option window.

IF your computer is NOT dropping the wireless signal when the phone rings, but the internet connection does drop - check the DSL signal light on your dlink. If it is flashing or not on, then the problem is with the DSL filters (small white connectors sent with your modem.). Always ensure any phone on the same line as the DSL is filtered or it will cause the internet connection to drop whenever the phone rings or is picked up.
