You need to offer more info for us to assist with possible fault.
When you say unplugging/re-plugging it allows it to work for a while, please explain - do you mean it works for a few minutes, it for a few hours or for a few washing cycles/days? Does it stop part way through a wash, or once started will it always finish a wash before failing again?

Check the transmission oil level. It must be filled to the indicator on dip stick.

It seems a lot like a timer issue. Advice to you is the next time it stops just tap or knudge the timer knob, if it starts up then you just found your problem.

Same here, my QC 3's stopped working, bought a new battery and nothing happened. Called Bose 1-877-210-3782 followed the prompts for "english" and "headphones". My QC 3's are 3 years old and out of warranty. Bose agreed to replace the headphones for $75 with free shipping. Better than paying a few hundred. Replacement set will have 1 year warranty.

Look at timer plug on harness for pins that are sticking out from side of timer plug, away from timer. See if they are all in the same amount. Sometimes one can work its way out so it won't make a good contact. Push in to plug if you find one.
