Is there a way i can get a manual for the above singer sewing machine? I know its a very old sewing machine but maybe you would have one available.

Singer has many of the manuals for their machines here: https://www.singer.com/support . See page 13 for the oiling directions. However, your numbers don't match the Singer serial numbers that I know. Most serial numbers either have no letters or one - two letters at the beginning of the number. There was a period when Singer used both a Registration and a Factory number to in the serial numbers. However, that ended before 1900 with the 12K batch.

Singer has most of their sewing machine manuals on their support site: https://www.singer.com/support . I don't see the 606 though. They do have the manuals for the 600 and 603 zig-zag Touch & Sew machines and the 604 straight stitch version. (Leave off the final 6 in the search box to see these manuals listed.) Since the Touch & Sew line didn't change much over time, these manuals may help.

Several sewing machine parts suppliers do have the 606 manual for sale. https://www.sewingpartsonline.com/instruction-manual-singer-606.aspx and http://www.sewingshop.com/singermodel606instructionmanual.aspx .

I do not have a source for the repair manual. Singer used to have parts diagrams available for their machines at singerco.com (on the Industrial machine page section). However, that site no longer works.

Most Singer manuals are available from the manufacturer's support page: https://www.singer.com/support . However the 315's manual isn't available. I've found two sites that will sell PDFs of the manual: https://www.sewingonline.co.uk/instructions/singer315/ and http://www.singersewinginfo.co.uk/manuals/ .

Singer Sewing Machine Company Serial Numbers

Unfortunately (or fortunately!), Singer made thousands of sewing machines for over 100 years. There are a lot of them around. Unless yours is a special edition coveted by collectors (Red Eye, etc), it probably doesn't have as much value as you would think. Of course, a lot of it also depends on its condition (physical and operational), the accessories that are included, the storage case, where it is located, etc. Value is really how much someone is willing to pay for it.

Most people keep their old Singers simply because they are great machines, relatively easy to repair (partly because there are a lot of parts available and they are mechanically simple), and fun to use.

Google search your manufacturer make and model and the word manual. If one is available, you can find it in the search results.

You need the repair manual, which will tell you what the timing is supposed to be. That's not the user guide, it's the manual for sewing machine repair men. Often available on line, for free or a modest download fee. I got one for my mother's 70 yr old machine for just a couple of dollars.

Call Singer at 1-800-4singer and ask why there is no free manual. Maybe they will make it available. Worth a try.

before you start sewing make sure the bobin thread is under the presser foot not above .. it should be under and out the back a couple of inches ..
