SOURCE: CARRIER MODEL 38YCA030370 MAKES HIGH PITCH ELECTRICAL HUMMING NOI

Yes it could be the pop off pressure relief on the compressor.
I assume it is the outdoor fan your referring to not running.

If this is a heat pump and it is in defrost (only in the heating mode should your outdoor fan be off and then for only a max of 12 to 15 minutes).
If it is just AC ir is Heat pump in cool mode, the out door fan should run while the compressor and indoor fan are on. Until the thermostat is satisfied on room temp.

This high pitched squealing is indicative of a bad fan motor or capacitor for the out door fan motor. Kill power and test blades to see if turns free. Check the run capacitor inside control panel. It is usually silver or aluminum colored (some are painted gray). The top should be flat with rolled edges and the sides should either be round or oval shaped with no swelling or oil leaking from inside it. If this all looks normal take it to where your going to get a motor any way and ask them to check it or sell you a replacement at the same time. These can go out usually from high voltage (lighting...) or from over heating (bad fan motor, dirty out door coil...).

Hope this helps you if not post back I'll respond as soon as I can. And please rate me as high as you can. Thank you for using Fix ya and good luck.

SOURCE: I have a Carrier Weathermaker 8000 VS furnace that

If you can get to the shaft of the motor, oil it using electric motor oil. If the motor spins freely, you just may need to replace the start capacitor, however if it is binding; you will need to replace the inducer as an assembly.

SOURCE: Carrier Weathermaker 8000 ignitor won't glow...

Hi, If you can take a good light and just look at the glow end of the hot surface ignitor, 95% of the time you will be able to see where the break is on the glow surface. If you have excess to a electrical meter, you would unplug the hot surface ignitor, that is the correct name for it and set the meter for continuity. Touch each lead from meter to each wire and you will show a reading of some kind if it is good, and nothing if it is open or burned out. If you are lighting it by hand (dangerous) it shows that the inducer motor, flame sensor, and main gas valve are in good shape. I know when its cold you have to do what it takes. If the main controller which may be a control circuit board with a red led light on it, or it may be a blue, or gray, white control box with wiring going to it with markings such as TH, TR, C, MGV, PV, Ect. on it and would be right where you are working to light the pilot manually. If it runs when you light it by hand, the control box is good or it would lock out when you would light it. Check out that hot surface ignitor/ glow plug. The part number is imprinted on it. It is either a 120 volt or may be 24 volt hot surface ignitor as some models have one or the other. A tip when installing the new one. Do not touch the surface end that glows with your fingers in anyway, as the oil from your fingers will cause it to burn in half! What happens to these hot surface ignitor is dust settles on them over time and causes them to burn in have or a crack in them. Rheem and Ruud units came out with there's mounted in a horizontal position and they kept burning out fast as dust would build fast. They finally come up with a bracket to mount it in a vertical position and solved this problem. Anyway, unplug it, pull it out and inspect it very good for any signs of a tiny crack or what ever. Ohm it out if you have a meter. You can buy one at a appliance parts house and they are very reasonable. Please keep me posted on what you find. I will be here for help. I wish you the best as I know you can do this.
Sincerely,
Shastalaker7

My carrier 58sta furncace is blowing cold air constantly

Code 33 is "limit is open or flame switch is open"
FIRST make sure the filter is clean. Turn off unit then turn back on.
if it works but then later gives you a 33 code then you might have a dirty a/c coil (if you have a/c) that will cause the limit to open. 1st try that

Code 32 when wind blows

Hi and welcome to Fixya. I believe that the wind is affecting the draft. What I would recommend is to install a cap on the flue that is similar to a weather vane in that it rotates to block the wind from creating a downdraft in the flue. Some times depending on the direction and strength of the wind it will come up over the roof peak and then down the flue. A regular fixed cap may work too. You should be able to purchase one at your local hardware store. Please let me know if this was helpful. Good luck.
