Your battery is deteriorating. Send it in to apple to get it replaced-
$40- 50. when back, fully charge and discharge 5-10 times, and do NOt leave it constantly plugged in.

1) First of all, check your charging cable. It won't supply a sufficient amount of energy to start the IPhone if it is bent or punctured. If it is try buying or using an alternative charger
2). If it still won't turn on, press and hold the home button for 30-60 seconds.
If it still won't work, contact your local phone or apple store to get the problem sorted.
That is about the amount of time when my 3GS stopped charging. The USB charger through the computer stopped working on all computers, and my wall charger for some reason continued to work sporadically. I changed the entire charging dock and that fixed it right up!
Sounds Like. Water Damage. D: My Old I Phone Did That . Look And See If Anything Got Spilt Around It . Try To Connect IT To Itunes. And See If It Says There Is An Issue Of Not, Try The Store.
I received my 3g model for Christmas as well. Last night, it lost wireless connectivity, froze and then would not turn back on, even though it was fully charge. However, I charged overnight again.
This morning, I held the on switch for much longer than normal, until the green light started flickering. I received a simple black screen a few times, but contintinued to hold the switch on. Then it reset itself and all is good.
So I know that sounds like a simple solution, but maybe worth trying. Good luck. It's disgusting, I know. I was so upset.
