Unit shuts down every 59 sec. No matter how much time, with or without anything in micro and I figure to replace motor and switch. How do I get to those parts in unit? Does it have to come down?

This is a problem in one of the damper-related components, either the switch or motor or the damper door may be binding.

The damper is a door inside that opens or closes depending on cooking mode. If the controller senses that the door is not in the right position, it will shut down the cook cycle.

Dacor-branded PCOR30-series microwaves are just cosmetically altered versions of the Sharp R1870-series ovens.

These Sharp-made models stop after 59 seconds when there's damper toruble.

See the attached sample drawing below for a typical damper assembly.

We have the applicable service manuals for the Sharp models and have uploaded it to our site here and here to help you in disassembling and troubleshooting your Dacor version.

You can find the Dacor PCOR parts list here and you can order Dacor parts by part number here.

If a switch is all you need, we offer a universal type for only $7.50 postpaid which you can order here.

You will have to remove the oven from the wall and remove the outer cover to access, test & replace damper parts.

Just refer to your installation instructions.

If for some reason you don't still have yours, scroll down to the bottom of this page to find yours.

That would be a problem in the damper assembly, either a bad switch or motor, or the damper door is jammed or blocked. Consult the attached diagram for general reference. The damper switch is the same as the primary interlock (door) switch.

Its location varies by model, but you'll have to take the outer cover off to find it.

The best place to order Sharp parts is Tritronics or you can call them toll-free at 866-779-5835.

If you only need a switch, you can order a universal type HERE

Also, I quote other similar solution...
I had the same problem. Turned out to be the micro switch and damper motor. I replaced both myself and fixed the problem for less than $40.00. The best advice I got was replace the switch, reconnect the motor and make sure the motor runs through a damper door cycle. It didn't run, even though it showed continuity and had power, so I replaced the motor which solved the problem. The micro switch which is activated by the cam on the damper motor has to be cycled within one minute, or the unit shuts itself off. The damper motor on my model R-1870 is found in the right rear section of the assembly when facing it. You have to remove the unit, and remove the outer casing to get to it. The damper is a simple sheet metal door, activated by the motor, and the switch mounts at the top of the motor and is activated by the same cam that activates the door.

Good luck.

Over the stove Mircowave just reinstalled...light is on but not heating up

If any wiring on the control panel was or might have been disturbed, I would want to check that. It may be that something (like a sensor) did not get plugged back in. Otherwise, I would verify that the door switches are working properly and the mounts for them are not loose or damaged. If this is a convection model, also check check the damper, damper motor, and damper switch. If you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info (as well as a text file which helps in diagnosing and repairing door switch problems) at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk You can find helpful exploded views, and often service manual portions here: http://www3.sears.com/
