How old is this model # AWS45NW ,Serial #040917265 Speed Queen Top Load Washing Machine . What type of wear and tear repairs can be expected down the road for normal use ?

Is the drive belt in good condition?
Does the machine spin dry?
Is there water leaking from the bottom?
I suggest the gearbox needs to be replaced. Another sign is if the machine is noisy when it is washing (agitating)

this is usually caused by dry and cracked up solder joints

take the board out and take it to a tv shop and ask the solder guru to resolder the board for you any bad connections

try this first

the valve filter is blocked up

turn off the hot water supply and remove the hoze from the machine end valve inlet
in the inlet is a small filter remove it and clean it

if its not too bad perhaps the valves solinoid coil has shorted turns
and wont open fast or fully
check the outlet preasure of hot water from the hoze to a bucket
see it flows fast ..

check pump ie blockage

It sounds like you need a new belt for your machine.

You will need to tear down the washer and pump, the drum out to check for obstructions and other problems that are keeping the drum from rotating.
