SOURCE: how do i get codes for a whirlpool cabrio wtw5500xw0 washer with no display?

Error codes for WTW5550XW whirlpool cabrio
It would appear that no one read your original post, I believe you asked: HOW DO IT GET THE ERROR CODE. I have the same machine and had the same problem. The method is descibed in the service manual available at servicemanuals.net for about $17. It also has a decent wiring diagram and how to generally do anything the local service guy could do well worth the money for a download you can have in your hands in minutes.
Back to your question.1) turn the washer off (the power button) all the indicator lights should be off.
(now think of your old gym locker combination lock, cause it will be a little like this)
2a) rotate the center selector knob CCW (counter clockwise a few clicks), this seems to get the machines attention
2b) immediately rotate 1 click CW clockwise
2c) immediately rotate 1 click CW (again)
2d) immediately rotate 1 click CW (again)
2e) immediately rotate 1 click CCW
2f) immediately rotate 1 click CW (again)
visually it would look like this <---,->,->,->,<-,->
now just the led's below the indicator should be blinking off and on on about 1 second intervals
you may need to try a few times to get the timing just right, you aren't spining through the clicks, just about enough time to say "left-left-left-right one,right-two,right three, left one, right one
with all the led's in a row blinking you are ready to go into code mode.
(sensing soak wash rinse spin done) (mine doesn't have soak BTW)
3) rotate the selector knob a few clicks until only the "done" led is lit
4) press start
5) the led's should blink again
which leds blink tells you alternately the fault# and error# when the "sensing" led is blinking, the other leds are indicating the fault number, when it is not on, the indicate the error# the fault# is the type of problem, and the error# indicates where the problem was detected.
6) a partial listing using the fault #, I will indicate the led as follows: Sensing/Wash/Rinse/Spin/Done
S/W/R/S/D this would be all these leds lit
s/w/r/s/d this would be all these leds off
the F# codes to the right is what you would see if you had the numeric display on the console (not all models)
Here goes:
Over suds condition: S/w/r/s/d F0
High water temp rinse cycle: S/w/r/s/d F0
Off balance load: S/w/r/s/d F0
Main control fault: S/w/r/s/D F1
Motor control fault: S/w/r/s/D F1
Stuck key: S/w/r/S/d F2
Mismatch of main control UI: S/w/r/S/d F2
Pressure sensor fault: S/w/r/S/D F3
Inlet water temp fault: S/w/r/S/D F3
Lid switch fault: S/w/R/s/D F5
Lid lock fault: S/w/R/s/D F5
Lid unlock fault: S/w/R/s/D F5
Lid not opened between cycles: S/w/R/s/D F5
Basket speed sensor fault: S/w/R/S/D F7
Shifter fault: S/w/R/S/D F7
Motor fault: S/w/R/S/D F7
Motor unable to reach target rpm:S/w/R/S/D F7
No fill long fill: S/W/r/s/d F8
Overflow: S/W/r/s/d F8
Hot cold reversed: S/W/r/s/d F8
Long drain: S/W/r/s/D F9
yes several of these had identical blinking light combinations, but it is good start.

Whirlpool cabrio washing machine doesn't spin

Try to turn the drum by hand, if it hard to turn, there may be something stuck underneath spin basket. If it does turn freely but makes a loud growling sound, you probably have a bad bearing. You should notice black oil and water mixture at bottom of washer, on the rotor. It will usually throw a f51 error code. This unit has service bulletin on this problem.

WTW5500XW0 fault code F2

F2 indicates a keypad/user interface failure on a cabrio washer according to the service manual a word of caution on this error code even though it says keypad/user interface I have seen it turn out to be the central control unit only way to know is to change keypad/interface first if that doesn't solve problem then control since most parts dealers will not accept returns on electrical parts and these parts are not cheap using a service company may in the long run be cheaper they can change the part and pull it back out if problem isn't corrected.

Whirlpool cabrio model wtw5500xw0 spins loud

The cabrio has a shaft that runs between the wash plate and the rotor located under the washer. The usual cause for noise during spin is something that has made it's way between the spin basket and tub. But it's best to try and determine if the noise is from under the washer or inside the washer, that way you aren't randomly taking things apart. See if you can pin point the location of the noise.

Loud noise while spinning, sounds like a bad berring

You are absolutely right. Your washer has bad tub bearings, the Cabrio washers are notorious for this problem. The bad news is that the bearings cost over $300 just for the part alone, not including paying a technician to come out and replace them. If you can tolerate the noise then you can continue to use the washer but it will eventually completely go bad, but this will give you time to find a different washer. The top three problems with the Cabrio washer is the tub bearings ($300+), the main control board ($200), and the drain pump cracking and leaking all over the floor ($100).

Hopefully I have helped you out, sorry it wasn't good news.

Loud dry sounding spin cycle

cabrio and calypso have some issues with either main bearing problems or brake drive issues, either or this is an expensive fix, so if you have an extended wty, call your service provider, if not, just replace it, repair most likely in excess of 600.

Cabrio won't drain/spin, loud hum

Hello karlatw
Welcome
It sounds like the motor coupler is broken. Tilt the washer back &look on the floor for rubber or plastic shavings. This would indicatethat the motor coupler has failed. Another possibility would be thetransmission or drive block.
