Error codes for WTW5550XW whirlpool cabrio
It would appear that no one read your original post, I believe you asked: HOW DO IT GET THE ERROR CODE. I have the same machine and had the same problem. The method is descibed in the service manual available at servicemanuals.net for about $17. It also has a decent wiring diagram and how to generally do anything the local service guy could do well worth the money for a download you can have in your hands in minutes.
Back to your question.1) turn the washer off (the power button) all the indicator lights should be off.
(now think of your old gym locker combination lock, cause it will be a little like this)
2a) rotate the center selector knob CCW (counter clockwise a few clicks), this seems to get the machines attention
2b) immediately rotate 1 click CW clockwise
2c) immediately rotate 1 click CW (again)
2d) immediately rotate 1 click CW (again)
2e) immediately rotate 1 click CCW
2f) immediately rotate 1 click CW (again)
visually it would look like this <---,->,->,->,<-,->
now just the led's below the indicator should be blinking off and on on about 1 second intervals
you may need to try a few times to get the timing just right, you aren't spining through the clicks, just about enough time to say "left-left-left-right one,right-two,right three, left one, right one
with all the led's in a row blinking you are ready to go into code mode.
(sensing soak wash rinse spin done) (mine doesn't have soak BTW)
3) rotate the selector knob a few clicks until only the "done" led is lit
4) press start
5) the led's should blink again
which leds blink tells you alternately the fault# and error# when the "sensing" led is blinking, the other leds are indicating the fault number, when it is not on, the indicate the error# the fault# is the type of problem, and the error# indicates where the problem was detected.
6) a partial listing using the fault #, I will indicate the led as follows: Sensing/Wash/Rinse/Spin/Done
S/W/R/S/D this would be all these leds lit
s/w/r/s/d this would be all these leds off
the F# codes to the right is what you would see if you had the numeric display on the console (not all models)
Here goes:
Over suds condition: S/w/r/s/d F0
High water temp rinse cycle: S/w/r/s/d F0
Off balance load: S/w/r/s/d F0
Main control fault: S/w/r/s/D F1
Motor control fault: S/w/r/s/D F1
Stuck key: S/w/r/S/d F2
Mismatch of main control UI: S/w/r/S/d F2
Pressure sensor fault: S/w/r/S/D F3
Inlet water temp fault: S/w/r/S/D F3
Lid switch fault: S/w/R/s/D F5
Lid lock fault: S/w/R/s/D F5
Lid unlock fault: S/w/R/s/D F5
Lid not opened between cycles: S/w/R/s/D F5
Basket speed sensor fault: S/w/R/S/D F7
Shifter fault: S/w/R/S/D F7
Motor fault: S/w/R/S/D F7
Motor unable to reach target rpm:S/w/R/S/D F7
No fill long fill: S/W/r/s/d F8
Overflow: S/W/r/s/d F8
Hot cold reversed: S/W/r/s/d F8
Long drain: S/W/r/s/D F9
yes several of these had identical blinking light combinations, but it is good start.
