Shuts off after a few mins. Red power light flashes non stop until I turn TV back on. What's wrong?

Once I turn it back on light flashes green. Tv comes on as normal for a few mins again and then shuts off. Have done this repeatedly five or 6 times. Tv stays on for same amount of time each time.

SOURCE: tv cycles on and off

Sounds like bad capacitors in nthe power supply, or maybe a regulator in the power supply. Have a tech take a look at this TV set for you, as there are no user replacable parts available in the TV set. Good Luck

I read in the various forums that frequent lamp failure can be caused by a defective ballast. I have not seen the schematices for the TV but typically a ballast controls current flow in a lamp. If I understand your post correctly it sounds like you have had a lamp failure per month for three months. I would recommend that you contact Panasonic 800-211-7262 and see what they propose. I think there is a design flaw with this model and they may be taking care of the problem. I would expect that a repair to the ballast would be a shop repair. Please post what response you get from Panasonic.

call them alot pp say they give u free one cuse they knw better ok

We had a Pioneer that did the same thing. We called a Pioneer Service Center. It appears there was a recall on the Power Supply. They fixed it in our home at not charge.

SOURCE: My Panasonic tv pt53wx53g wont turn on it blinks 3 red lights

The 3 blinks is a error code for the convergence circuit. You can get the convergence repair kit for your model at the following link which contains both Convergence ICs and all six feed resistors and they include step by step instructions with pictures that show how to do the repair yourself. Heres a link to the proper kit for your model Panasonic.

SOURCE: Power problem

Three blinks - B+ over voltage protection (OVP), unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 3 blink fault. This is also a problem in the power supply circuit, check T603 and R672.

Sony Bravia KDL-55EX500 flashing green and yellow light, an won't turn on. Any suggestions?

you guys are going to love me. lol. i figured it out at least for mine. $ )
1.start by unplugging the tv and everything plugged into it(make sure the only thing plugged into the tv is the power cord).
2. next plug in the usb flash drive with the update or a compatible version of the firmware.

3. now while holding down the up arrow button on the tv remote, plug in the tv and keep holding the up arrow while pressing and holding the power button on the side on the tv until you see the light on the tv go from solid green to solid red and yellow flashing lights. once you see this just sit back and wait a few min for it to force the update and it should turn on when its done.

let me know if this works for you as well or if you need any clarification. also know that step three is a pain to do alone and must be all done within a short period of time preferably at the same time.

A continuous flashing red light with the word LAMP on it would definitely mean you're going to need to spend a few bucks on a new lamp....or for a few more, upgrade to a TV from this century that doesn't require lamp changes :)

Tv cuts off and green light flashes

If your set was manufactured around July 2005, you may need a firmware upgrade to solve this issue. On the Sony website you can enter your model # and serial # to see if you TV is affected. If so, it is easy to have done and may be free from Sony. It sounds like the issue they described in the writeup on the required formware update. I had mine done within few months of when i bought it (purchased in Dec 2005) and it has been working flawlessly since.

Good luck!
