SOURCE: Electric Heater Coils Always On

We use the STW0925H! in 60 rooms on this property and have encountered similar problems that were caused by weldedd contacts on one of two relays that controls the electric strip heat. They can be replaced if needed.

PTHP's and PTACs employ thermal fuses as well as a bimetal limit stat on the heating element to limit risk if fan motor were to fail and the heating element were to remain energized. It would be wise to check that both are fuctioning properly while you are servicing the unit.

SOURCE: my Sanyo PTAC heather stop

Hi,
It could be the relay or the strip heat....
To figure out what is wrong you will need to check if power is getting to the strip heat or not...should have 220-240 V across the two legs going to the heat strip...when the heat should be on.

Can someone tell me how to fix the heating coil on my amana ptac?

How much power is the question. Remember, heating coils usually require 240 volts. You likely are only getting 115 due to a faulty limit switch. 115 will carry through to the other side of the switch from the coil side leading you to believe the switch is good. Remove both sides of switch and test continuity.

My AMANA PTAC unit model # PTH093b35ae is not producing heat. My air conditioner works fine. So, I get cold air. However, when I switch to heat, it still runs but does not produce any heat.

It is not switching from cooling into heating. You probably need to have a service tech look at the unit. Sorry. It could be control board or stuck reversing valve.

This question for Sanyo PTAC HVAC for Hotel-Motel style unit.Hi, We have Sanyo PTAC STW 1223C2P,in real cold night, heat stripe in not working proper, on left side blow cold air, in center throw hot a

If you are saying this happens on a really cold night, the assumption is that on milder nights, it seems to work adequately.....If that's the case, there is a possibility that it is marginally sized in capacity to heat the space in which it is installed. If it has a "fresh air" damper setting, make sure that is closed completely, because that is air directly from outside the structure that is being brought in through the blower and adds more load to the space and makes the discharge air feel colder.

Wont heat

do you hear 3 clicks when you start it up,these clicks are the gas valves opening to supply the unit with gas for operation,if no clicks are heard it can be the thermal fuse is open,if only 1 or 2 clicks check continuity of the main and secondary gas valve coils as they can open up or get weak from heat during operation, usually just replace both coils on the gas valve as they are inexpensive one has 3 connections and the other has only 2 connections, but first bypass the thermal fuse with a jumper wire (for testing only) then replace the gas valve coils next, unplug both coil connections then remove 2 screws holding the valves to the valve and replace and reverse dis-assembly procedure

Dryer runs but wont heat

Hi. If your dryer is an electric unit, you will need to check the electronic thermal fuse. this fuse normally detects any abnormalities within the heating element assembly. if the detections are not normal, it will allow itself to fail, in return, shutting down all heating abilities. there may be a problem with the heating element itself. i would recommend preforming a test on the element contacts to make sure it is receiving the necessary current flow needed for proper operation. replacing the fuse may enable the heating once more but, there may be a serious issue at hand that blew this fuse in the beginning. Ok, if this is a gas dryer, the most common issue here will be the coil assembly. if this device Isn't preforming up to specs, it will not allow for sufficient heating due to an absence of a proper flame. replacing the coil assembly will fix this issue.

please rate and have a great day.
