I'm not able to set the digital zoom

The digital zoom setting is only available when the aspect ratio is set to 4:3. The setting is accessible by pressing the 'func.set' button in shooting mode.

On shooting mode, press MENU,then move down to Digital Zoom. Use right or left buttons to change the digital zoom options. For example: you can set on 1.6x, 2x, etc.

There is some minor problem in your lense motor. Go to any sony service centre. That people will help you.

I assume you mean when pressing the W or T buttons the zoom feature does not work. Try to reset the camera to the factory default settings and this should enable the zoom feature to work again. To do this go to Ok button and then to Mode Menu - then to Setup tab and then right arrow to Reset. hit the right arrow and you will see Reset Yes or No. Highlight Yes and press Ok. Camera should be in factory settings and zoom option will function.

Zoom option doesn't work while recoding in movie mode in DSC-W70. You can adjust zoom-in or zoom-out before starting movie clip recording.

If the option to turn your digital zoom on or off is grayed out then the mode you have the camera set to does not allow changes to that option in that mode. I would try changing to another mode and see if the option is still grayed out. That being said I would NEVER use the digital zoom feature. All a digital zoom does is electronically crop the image in the camera which can be done easier and better once the images are uploaded to your computer. Digital zoom usually produces images of greatly reduced quality. I hope this helps!

Digital Zoom is best ignored in any camera it simply blows up a section of an image already taken, You can do that far better with an image editor in the computer. As for the Optical Zoom - it does indeed seem to be repair time- As it is only a year and half old- may be Canin will be sympathetic and offer a cheap swap out.

The Stylus Verve has a 2x optical zoom and a 4x digital zoom, which gives you a total zoom of 8x seamless zoom. Use the shooting mode menu to activate the digital zoom feature.

The D-535 Zoom camera has a 4x digital zoom in addition to the 3x optical zoom, which gives you a total of 12x zoom overall. Press the Zoom button and a zoom indicator will be displayed in the upper right corner of the LCD – the area in white represents the Optical Zoom range and the red area represents the range of the Digital Zoom. The W represents a wider area of view as you zoom out, and the T represents Telephoto as you are zooming in closer to the subject.
