The fireplace won't turn on when it gets below the set point on the remote. The flame icon is on and I think it's keeping the fireplace from coming on.

That's because you have reached your desired room temperature as set on the remote. Raise the set point to a higher value.

My Mendoza fireplace is reading about 14 degrees below temp in house. Is remote bad.

It'll depend on where the temp sensor is located on the fireplace, I'm assuming it's low to the ground so it'll read lower than mid wall stats or temp gauge if your standing

Gas ventless fireplace remote will not work have inserted new batteries in both fireplace and remote but fireplace not recognizing remote

Every time the batteries are changed in the receiver and transmitter the transmitter has to be "re-learned" to the receiver. To do this locate the "learn" button which will look like a tiny hole so you have to stick the end of a pin or a pen in the hole to press the button. Hold the button down until it beeps at you 5 times and release. press the button again and release and then press Any button on the transmitter.
Once the receiver is set into its "learn" function it does not matter what button is pressed on the transmitter because the next signal the receiver picks up will be the frequency it is attached-to.
In order to change the transmitter simply hold the learn button down until it beeps 5 times again which tells us it has wiped out its memory. Then press, release and press the transmitter.

Majestic gas fireplace troubleshooting

Is your log set remote driven? Do you have the room temperature set in it? You may have inadvertently set the room temperature for a certain range. Or you may have a thermopile going bad. Do you have any other remote driven appliances affected at the same time? I.E.: Do you change tv channels and the logs go off?

Skytech 3301 thermo

Check to make sure your thermostat is set at a temperature that will turn the fireplace "on".
Double-check what your "swing" temp settings are set at, as this may effect how quickly the unit shuts off because it thinks it's too close to the target temperature.

If needed:Skytech's Tech Support number is 1-888-672-8929They are available Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm EST.

If your remote needs to be replaced, the 3301 is available here:

If you are looking to replace it, I would also highly recommend looking at Skytech's new 3301P2 remote. It adds a programmable thermostat, and a much nicer back-lit LCD screen. This unit is available here:

The remote no longers turns on the fireplace.

  • Is your valve turned "on" and not in the "pilot" mode?
  • If your valve is in the "on" position, try turning the Skytech receiver's switch to "on" instead of remote.
  • If the fireplace ignites when the receiver is "on" then the remote needs to be re-synchronized.
  • If the fireplace valve is "on", the remote's receiver is in the "on" position, and the fireplace will not light, then you most likely have a bad thermopile in your fireplace and need service.
