Tv not coming on has a blinking power button - Toshiba CX36F85 36" TV

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Model number listed here should have a blink code if set does not make it on----most common is 3 blinks over and over or 5 blinks over and over.

The power light keeps flashing and the tv won't turn on. If you unplug for a minute and hit the power button it sound like it is coming on then it shuts off and the red power light flashes slowly. The TV is a Panisonic 1080i HDTV, about 6-7 years old.

Do the self check when power light goes out:

ON front of set (not remote) press and hold both the Menu and Input (Device) buttons at same time for 5 seconds or longer and release both buttons.

Power light will blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and repeat it several times.

I have this model of the sharp tv.Happen to me very often the Power and OPC LED light indicators blink continueosly.Not the power supply board,it the Tuner board that take in the comming broscast signal that have the problems.You still can used this tv.Push the power button sometime the tv it will work right away.Not,each time POWER and OPC lights continueosly blinks.Just push the power button again each time the POWER and the OPC continueosly blinks.Just have push power button again about 4 times each time Power and OPC blinks recycles,it will finally show the backlight and picture come on.My guest,if u do this by pushing power button to recycles about 10-12 times each time the POWER and OPC blinks it time to change the Tuner signal board.

My tv worked at 1:30 am, one day and the next morning at 8:00am it would not come on. The power button comes on and blinks and the it goes off. can you help me?

This is usually an indication of a failure in the scan amplifier sections. When the scan amplifiers or high voltage sections fail, the main power supply will usually also require servicing.

It is very common that the fly-back and high voltage multiplier and also the horizontal output stage fails in these sets. Along with it, the power supply will usually require to be serviced. On rare occasions, the vertical deflection amp fails.
