Precor c956i shuts off after you start running on it. Works fine if there is not a person on it. It feels a little bit like the belt is slipping. Any suggestions

I know the motor checks out fine and it has a new on/off switch.

It also has been doing this progressively worse over time. I.e. it used to only shut off if I increased speed while running. Now it does it even if I speed it up and then carefully start running.

Motor making loud buzzing noise

The grinding noise could be asking for lube. If that is possible, do it.

I have a precor c956i and got error 27 on it, what can i do to resolve probmem? thank you

Precor Error 27, Too Much Drive Motor Current Probable Cause 1. The running belt and/or deck are badly worn.
2. Drive motor is shorted or de-magnetized causing a high power demand.
Corrective Action
  1. Check the amp draw using a clamp on AC volt-amp meter during loaded and no load conditions and compare values to a similar treadmill that is known to have a good running belt and deck. Replace the belt and/or deck if necessary. Don't forget, some units have a double sided deck which means it may be flipped over rather than replaced if it has an unused side.
  2. Test unit with a known good drive motor. Replace drive motor if necessary.

Hello, Our Precor 9.21si begins slipping after walking or running a few minutes. Seems to be worse the faster you go. After about 1 mile, the house fuse blows. What troubleshooting steps do you thi

This really sounds like the results of long term use without lubrication or wax between the belt and deck. Chances are you will need to replace the running belt and the deck or flip the deck if it has not already been done. The friction builds up between the deck and belt and caused the electronic components to overheat. The machine is shutting down as a precautionary measure. It will do this only so many times before the electronics are zapped. Start with the deck and belt. Hopefully the electronics are okay. I have a 2005 Precor 9.27 that I bought used with only 500 miles on it. This is my first tredmill and I feel it silpping at 5 mph. How do I tighten walking belt? The alignment bolt is at rught rear,so

Adjusting Tension on a Treadmill Running Belt It is necessary to properly tension a treadmill belt when it is replaced. After time, a belt can stretch and may begin to slip. When this happens, it is necessary to adjust the tension of the running belt to stop it from slipping. Manufacturers of treadmills generally agree on one of three procedures for how to tension a treadmill running belt.
  1. Adjust for no slippage of the treadmill walking belt on the front roller (Often referred to as the "Stomp Test")
    1. This procedure works well for a previously installed belt that is now slipping.
    2. Underside of belt should be free of any glazing/wax buildup.
    3. Rollers must also be free of wax buildup.
    4. Be sure belt tracking/centering is correct before proceeding.
    5. The most popular speed for this adjustment is 2mph to 3mph.
    6. Try to slow the belt by applying pressure with your foot against the belt movement while grasping the handrails. If the running belt slow, slips or stops (and the front roller does not) adjust BOTH adjustment bolts 1/4 turn clockwise. Test again and repeat adjustment if necessary.
  2. This procedure requires two belt gauges or calipers
    1. This procedure works well when installing a new belt.
    2. This procedure requires you to stretch the belt. Depending on the manufacturer*, this varies between .4 and .6 percent. A dial on the gauge or caliper will indicate the amount of stretch. *Consult the owner/service manual for proper tension.
    3. If you are working on a previously tensioned belt you will need to release the tension before attaching the gauges or calipers.
  3. Gauges or Calipers unavailable
    1. Release the tension on the belt.
    2. Using a yard stick or tape measure, place two marks on the left and right edges of the belt and deck 36 inches apart (or 50 inches if you prefer).
    3. Adjust the left and right tensioning bolts until both sides measure 36 3/16 inches (or 50 1/4). This is equal to .5% of stretch.
    4. Test for proper tracking and tension, adjust if necessary.

C956i Precor is displaying Error code 44 ?

Precor Error 44, Un-commanded Lift Motion Probable Cause 1. Intermittent or bad connection in the lift position sensor(potentiometer).
2. Lift position sensor (potentiometer) is bad.
3. Lower PCA is bad.
Corrective Action
  1. Bad or intermittent connection of the lift position sensor (potentiometer) is the most common cause of the error 44. Inspect all wiring and connections related to the lift position sensor (potentiometer). Repair or replace wiring connections as necessary.
  2. Monitor the lift position number displayed while operating the lift in diagnostics mode. If the reading makes large changes or is erratic, the lift position sensor (potentiometer) is likely bad. Replace the lift position sensor (potentiometer) or lift motor if the lift position sensor (potentiometer) is internal to the lift motor.
  3. If the lift moves without any command entered either manually or through a program, replace the lower PCA.

Power keeps cutting out when clients are running on it.

When a running belt has excessive wear, it creates a lot of friction which causes the drive motor to work harder. When the drive motor works harder it will start overheating. If the belt is not lubricated periodically, it will ruin the deck, the drive motor, and cause other electrical problems such as tripping the breaker [after a while, the circuit breaker on the treadmill will need to be replaced.
It is suggested to lubricate the belt every month. At this point, you may need to replace both your deck and your running belt.

C956 precor treadmill

Hi
not to sound funny but are you sure that you have this tread set in the units (mpg/kph) that you require. i have worked in loads of gyms and its a common problem that people think the belt is running to fast because its set in kph and that thinks its in miles eg 9mph = 14.5kph
you can check and change the units in the club setting menu.
hope this helps :)
