Have grundfos jp4 with controller. it will start up in the night when no taps turned on,? and to me it appears to have less pressure when using the hose? is there a pressure adjustment

No pressure adjustment.
Air bubbles in line will decrease pressure... air vent at highest point can help solve problem.

Possible leak problem on Hot line somewhere, and/or pressure problem.
Turn off all taps and check before and after result on water meter.
If toilet is running it draws cold water... but if you have bad single-handle faucet cartridge, it can draw hot into the line.

Grundfos MQ pump starts every 15 seconds

Pressure is bleeding back through the pump or system to the tank or well or where ever the water is coming from. Should be some sort of one way valve to keep water from going back to the source, mounted somewhere so that once pressure is pumped up, it will hold that pressure in the part of the system that has the pressure switch that controls the pump.

That or you have a leak where you can't see it. (Actually you do, it is just internal and not leaking outside the pipes!)

Had grundfos shower pump fitted, wheneva a tap is turned on else where in house the pump attempts to start !

Hello. Your shower pump is sensitive to the other taps because your installer failed to install check valves in the system to prevent the backflow of water whenever another tap was turned on. J.

This is a problem with your bladder in the pressure tank or the pressure switch. Ether one will produce this cycling on and off. Good luck.

I have the same problem and have found that the inlet check valve has a broken shaft in the center of device. It is a multi-piece plastic unit and it looks as if it is not quite seating and therefore the internal pressure leaks slowly back into my low pressure suction line. The pump will start and the pressure will build then shut off for about 30 minutes then cycle again. I am going to replace the check valve.

The control unit is faulty, I had that problem twice.. I have now bypassed the control unit and use a normal pump pressure switch to control..works fine..The Grundfos company at first said I had to have air in the lines then admitted the control assy. was at fault. after two new units in three years I did away with the control unit.
