I have plasma tv thats has been getting the pink bands across the screen when the image on screen is bright. It gets worse when cell light is turned up in addition to brightness.

Tried vs and r gain already and not sure if the jumper is for this particular problem the eraser didnt seem to do anything but i could have been cleaning the wrong contacts. Need some straight answers.Test pattern doesnt do it and it has to be a moving image thats bright. turned down cell light and it now really just goes from bright to dark like a slight fade. menues when its doing this has a residual image. tried the screen scroll and no signs of burn in.

SOURCE: Samsung Model: HP-R4262 42" Plasma Problem, pink pixelation/ghosting

Wow, I've been an installer and salesman in the consumer electronics industry since before the first plasma TV came out (Phillips 42" and Fujitsu 42" in 1996) and this is the first time I've ever seen that kind of an answer. "Take this to a repairman and he can add more plasma" what is the repairman a doctor. If it were that easy no one would ever have to upgrade or replace their screens. You can't add more plasma to a screen, if you don't believe me call Samsung and ask them for yourself like I did. I was actually so dumbfounded by your answer that I called a tech friend of mine at Samsung and asked him, his answer; "does this guy work for you?" I told him no and he said, "I was going to tell you to fire him because that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard anyone tell a customer".
What you need to do is take you plasma TV to an AUTHORIZED Samsung dealer/repair shop and inquire about the hazing/ghosting problem with them. Follow this link to find an authorized repair center near you: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/repairlocation/serviceLocator.do?group=&type=&subtype=&model_nm=HP-R4262&dType=D&mType=UM&vType=R&prd_ia_cd=&acc_ia_fl=&disp_nm=HP-R4262

SOURCE: Display problem with Samsung 40'' LCD.

This is usually an issue with the TCP (Tape Carrier Package) on the LCD panel prying loose. You need to wedge something on top of the TCP in the problem area that will apply pressure (rubber or foam. That will do away with the lines.

Samsung LCD TV 46 inch model LN46A550 has bright pink glow where it should be light (sky, lamp, etc)

My guess would be that you have a CCFL lamp that is failing. They will give off a pinkish tint when they are about to fail. But I would encourage you to get a professional diagnoses.

How do I correct pink and green bands accross HP-R4252 Plasma TV

First of all try, changing the input device to some other and see whether you see the same problem. Then connect your present input to a different TV and see. If you feel the input is ok, and it is a problem in the display, this is a case to be handled by a qualified service technician.

TO GET THE DIFFRENT BETWEEN LCD VS PLASMA

LCD
LCD stands for liquid crystal display. These types of displays have been around for awhile and are commonly used with computers. One reason for their big popularity is the ability to produces a better picture than CRT monitors but also being much thinner.
Pro’s
  • Low Energy Consumption – LCD monitors use very low amounts of power. This is why it is very commonly used in battery powered devices.
  • LCD screens also reduce the amount of glare on the screen which can be very beneficial if your TV is in a room with lots of light.
  • If an image is left on the screen too long, LCD screens are less likely to experience the image being burned into the screen. If this does occur, it’s easier to repair than other types of TV’s.
Con’s
  • The viewing angle of an LCD TV is typically not as great as Plasma but the difference is not great enough to make a huge difference.
  • LCD TV’s can sometimes get dead pixels which aren’t typically covered under warranty. Although they are very small, they can become very annoying.
  • Brightness levels aren’t as great as Plasma and it’s not possible to display darks quite as dark.

Plasma
Plasma technology hasn’t been as widely used as LCD in previous years but has become very popular in large HDTV’s. Although they have historically been more expensive than LCD TV’s, they are becoming more comparable in price.
Pro’s
  • Brightness and color are the major advantages of Plasma TV’s. They produce rich colors along with very deep blacks.
  • Their wide viewing angles allow more people to be able to watch TV comfortably.
  • The pixels of Plasma TV’s are lit individually unlike LCD screens. Because of this feature, the pixels can be completely turned off to display truck black colors.
Con’s
  • The lifespan of a Plasma TV is typically shorter than other types of TV’s. The lifespan can be extended by turning down the brightness of the screen.
  • Plasma TV’s are more susceptible to screen burn-in where an image is “burnt” onto the screen when left on the screen too long such as a network logo in the bottom right corner of the screen.
  • Plasma TV’s require a panel of glass to cover it. This glass can reflect light and make it difficult to see the picture. If placed in a dark room, this typically isn’t an issue.

LG RT-42P245V-Band of pink

The PDP (plasma) panel has gone bad and need to be replaced. This is not a user serviceable part and cost about 1/3 of buying a new unit plus the cost of labor for a two-man job. I would hope that this unit was purchased less than 1 year as warranty for parts and labor is 1 year. If not I do hope you purchased an extended warranty or paid it with a MasterCard (some MC card provider extends the warranty by another year). Cost of repair for flat screen TVs are high so it really a wise investment to purchase extended warranty. Fixya offers extended warranty on your future electronics purchase. Hope this helps.
