Keeps saying to change batteries

I've a similar problem - when I power the camera up it keeps telling me I need new batteries before turning itself off (even when fresh batteries with loads of juice are inserted). I find that if I shake it, the power dies so I think the problem may be a loose connection as a consequence of having dropped it. I am hoping to take mine apart & see whether I can fix it. If I do I'll let you know. Don't hold your breath, it might take me a while!
