If you take the belt off, see if you can turn the compressor pulley by hand. If not, the compressor is seized and will need a strip down. Have you checked that there is oil in the compressor crankcase? Usually, there is a sight glass to check.

Belts keep breaking 919.167600

If the motor is breakng belts that fast, most liketly your pump parts aren't turning freely. This is usually caused by a damaged bearing(s). With the belt off, all pump parts should turn freely and smoothly by hand with some more effort needed during the compression stroke. Check for smooth operation of the flywheel bearing, the piston rod bearing, and the piston/cylinder operation. If any of the bearings are damaged and hindering the turning of the flywheel, the motor will burn through your belt.

I have a Kenmore Dryer Model number 66902691 that has a burning smell when it is running. All lint was just cleaned out of it, but it is still smelling!

This might be caused by a seized idealer pully, located on the bottom of the dryer drum. A belt wrapes around the drum and across the idealer pully and then on the motor pully. If the idealer is not turning freely, it creates friction and eventually burns the belt in half.
Hope this helps

Necchi Model 535 FA - Replaced drive belt, after running machine for approximately 5 minutes, machine locks down with motor running, motor pully burns plastic belt into.

The motor is running. That is confirmed that motor is fine. But the wires from motor has to be checked.the motor connections are getting short and this is causing the plastic belt to burn.Check the motor as well as its connection.
thanks.

How do i replace my water pump on a gmc yukon xl 2002

First you will need to remove your tension belt from all your pullies. This is usually done finding a pully that provides tension to and takes away from the belt. HINT: It will be one that doesnt have abunch of mechanical part atached behind it. After removing hte belt in the center of the motor about mid ways up there is a pully that has a hose runing behind it. The other end of the hose goes to the radiator. Well where this plugs into the motor is the waterpump. you more than likely will need to remove the pully from the pump. afd88a0.jpgAbove is a picture of your pump with the pulley removed. The four bolts in the center are how you disconnect the pulley and the four on the side of the pump are how you disconnect from the motor. Make sure when you get done and all back together to look around the new pump for leaks.

Maytag Performa PAV2300AWW screaching noise, belt problem, pulley broke

My Maytag Performa was making the loud squealing noise. I changed out the water pump/bearing, took care of the problem.
Putting a new belt on just help burn up the bearing (they needed replacing) and probably ruined the new belt. Probably seized the water pump bearing and the belt jumped and broke the motor pully. A washing machine motor is very strong, when that h20 pump bearing seized (or possibly some bearings jamed up) the motor kept on turning that belt and the plastic pully gave in. You'll need to replace that also. If the h20 pumb bearing is turning freely, likely the bearings jammed up but or now loose. That bearing should be tight, no slack or play in it. You can probably wobble the pully on it all around while turning it. The slightest slack is too much.

Maytag Model # LAT9635AAE

Check to see if it is a pump problem or a transmission problem. First remove both belts see if all the pullys turn freely. if the pump has a tight feel check inside pump for a item jammed in it.look for transmission oil on floor or belts if oil is present transmmision if probably going.ALSO check at the top of the tubs for anything stuk in between tubs.

Machine has dificulty agitating, front pully has signs of melting, final spin starts slow but eventually picks up

The motor will have to be replaced if bearings are out. However, the smell you describe sounds like the belt slipping, which means something else is binding up. With the belt removed, turn each pulley and double check each one. A water pump is much more likely to fail than a motor. Good Luck
