I can think of several problems with that
1. Defective lights
2. Defective control board
3. Defective control panel,
you just have to check one thing at a time.

SOURCE: One of my microwave light

If your model is NN-P295SF, then the service manual is here.

This light failure often occurs when a bulb goes out and the filament shorts, or when the bulbs are removed or installed without first unplugging the oven from the power line.

Sometimes you get lucky and only a fuse blows, but either can cause a failure on the controller.

We often see this problem on the control panel, which we regularly repair by mail for $39.95 postpaid with a one year guarantee.

At our Web site, you can get details of our service, plus we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

The lights can can be inoperable or stuck on or stuck in "night light" mode. Sometimes this will similarly affect the fan operation or inside light, too.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

I have a GE JVM2070SH001 micowave . I do not have power to the under unit lights (work, nitelight) but everything else works fine. What is the likely problem?

Either the control board or the switch itself. I can't remember if that on is part of the main keypad or not. Does the unit beep when you press the light button? If it does then you need to follow the wiring to a point where you have power. Best guess...control board

I have exactly the same problem. Everything works perfectly even fan, except microwave table won't turn. I just found out what's the problem... The door for some reason is sitting too low now, even though it is not obvious at all. It looks leveled with everything else, but it's not. Set your Microwave to let's say 30 seconds and turn it on. It will not do anything... but you just gently lift the door (while closed of course) few millimeters and your Microwave will start running like new. There is something wrong with those latches on the door, not touching the microswitches inside the Microwave. Doors must be properly closed in order for Microwave to work. This is due to poorly design. I yet have to figure out how to fix that permanently.

Doesn't heat anything

It sounds like the micro generator has died.

Yes, you should buy a new one as the cost of repair is likely to be high.

Doesn't "nuke" anymore

Unplug it. Take off the metal cover. Look for a fuse. Probably blown, replace it with same size. If it blows again, scrape it.

Lights, Fan works but it doesn't "nuke"

Your magnetron may be shot. Best to go shopping. Not many repairable parts on a microwave. Plainly, it's more expensive to have iy checked out.
