I had to have belt and pulley replaced when machine was only one ;year old now it is leaking from under neath and I believe it is the water pump. I would never buy another Maytag.

This is a problem with the signal from the water heating element "Thermistor" a Thermistor is a solid state sensor that senses temperature, in this case water temp. The Thermistor is part of the washers water heating assembly and not sold separately from it. There is a factory repair bulletin associated with the problem and the new part has improved reliability. I can't understand what the Maytag folks you called would tell you it is not listed, it is a common fault in the Neptune. Please rate my help. Thanks
gringing noise is never a good sign check the main bearing these are notorious for having bearings go and if it is bearing find a new machine its not worth fixing it is costs more then the machine is worth to replace
This can be a symptom of drum bearing wear.
A quick check for wear is to see if the inner drum moves up and down
relative to the fixed outer drum. It should only move a minute amount.
If it moves more than a milli metre or two, it is probably worn
bearings. You can obtain bearing kits for most makes.
If
it is making unusual noises while washing too, check there is not a wire or similar object trapped half way into one of the drum holes. A
high pitched whine is sometimes caused by the motor bearings (but most
brush/commutator motors whine a bit anyway on higher speeds, it is
normal). Oil sparingly so as not to contaminate the carbon brushes.
I have the exact same washer with the exact same problem. I have a home warranty that covers appliances so when they sent out the Sears technician, he took a list of parts and replaced about 9 things for a grand total of $450. If I didn't have a home warranty that only charged me $55 to do it, I would have just bought another non-Maytag washer.
Hey ****, what you are hearing is the spin bearing. Maytag redesigned the bearing kit on this washer, there must of been a lot of leaks causing the bearing to go bad. They put out a service flash...TDL-0060-B. New seal and bearing kit, part number12002470. You may want to contact Maytag on this for it could be covered. I know you have 5 years warranty on the transmission and If they change that, they have to use a new seal and bearing. Catriver...post back.
