Jura z7 error message empty coffee tray when tray s not full

Yo James,

I know nothing of your unit, but I've never let that stop me before??.

Sounds like a sensor is stuck in the "tray full" position and popping an error message based upon what "it" is detecting.

OK, how does the unit know from "full tray" (what ever that means). I'm a big believer in problems being created by dirt, crud and in your case, coffee grounds. Unless the sensor (switch?) itself has failed, I'll bet there is debris fouling the system.

Find the "full tray" (what ever that means ??) sensing mechanism and clean/replace it and I'll bet you will solve the problem.

All the best.

Is it dumping water or is it pouring water back into the ice bin? if it is pouring water back into ice bin than check your water float to make sure it is not calling for water also make sure the water valve is not letting water seep buy you can cut power to machine and if you here water still entering sump tray then replace water valve. if not then turn machine back on check and see it the water full light is on if so and water is still entering sump tray then replace float switch. If water full light is not on and the sump tray is full of water than remove the water sensor and clean or replace it.

Paper tray is full but display still reads to load paper. There is a small sensor? dohickie hanging down inside. It was loose. I reconnected it but am not sure how it fits inside the machine. Pushing in...

Hello info66414,

Welcome, and thank you for using FixYa!

You are correct! The Do-hickie is actually called the "Paper Tray Sensor Flag" and it isn't supposed to be dangling down. When it is dangling and won't stay seated, it has been broken by accidental replacement of the paper drawer.
You will have to get ahold of your local Ricoh Repair shop and have them replace this sensor for you. Then it should detect paper properly again.

Have a great day!

The copier will not recognize that tray one is full of paper

try switching trays.... if the error follows the tray then you have something lose in the tray... if the error does not follow the tray then something is wrong with the sensors or sensor area that tray 1 sits in... sometimes sensors arms get jammed or they break... if the issue is the tray then you need to pull out tray 2 and compare and see what is different and possibly wrong...

5100CN ask to load paper in tray when tray is full

There should be a plastic flag that hangs down into the tray. When the tray is full the other end of the flag moves out of the path of an inferred sensor. Locate the sensor and try cleaning it.

I found the problem was with MS Word. The tray has to be set to Tray 1 and not MP.

Error message for Ricoh C410DN

When that message is displayed, the printer thinks the output tray is full of paper and it won't print any more because there is no room left to spit pages out. If the output tray isn't full of paper, the sensor that detects paper there might just be dirty or dusty.

That sensor is a black sensor that should be located just at the point where the paper exits the machine, above where the paper comes out. Blow some compressed air on the sensor to try to clean it off and see if that clears your error message.

Output tray is full

Hi, there must be an actuator of the output tray sensor. It is placed above paper tray, just in place when paper exit from machine.Try to clean sensor,or to place actuator in proper place-pull it down. Also, maybe is actuator broken.
