Connect an HDMI cable from the DVD's HDMI port to an unused HDMI port on the TV. Select the input from the settings menu and name it DVD or select the DVD name. Turn the DVD player ON. Using the input select button on the remote, select the HDMI DVD input. Wait a few seconds while the TV and DVD player establish a connection. The DVD player menu should appear. Insert a DVD and enjoy a movie. Hope this helps. Regards.

How do get the tv to work with my dvd player

You should be able to just connect the set via an HDMI cable to your DVD player for it to play. You then will have to select using the TV remote the HDMI connection the DVD is connected to.
I do not believe the TV will switch to the DVD player automatically when connected via HDMI. My TV doesn't, though it's not the same as yours.

Want to use just one remote!

This really is a question that Kenwood would have to answer and their phone number is 1-800-536-9663. Some remotes will communicate with the dish receiver but there are far to many manufacturers for me to be able to tell you who they are and their codes. It is much better if you go directly to the source yourself.
Thanks for using Fix Ya and let me know if I can further assist you.
