Hello,
to check the toner level just press the button and wait the second light(orange) to turn On and then release the button. The printer will print two pages one with configuration and one with the supply status of the toner cartridge

How do you check the ink levels of the cartridges on a hp deskjet 940c
Hi,
If the ink level is low in a print cartridge, the Print Cartridge Status light stops flashing when the printer’s top cover is opened. When you open the panel the ink cartridges slide to the center , as far as checking the ink level find and right click on the printer icon, click properties, and find ink cartridges and ink levels.

How do I check the ink level in the printer
Most printer will let you check the ink level using the Menu and it is sometimes under a category called Supplies or Ink Levels. If this is a laser printer you are working with Toner and its not exactly the same.

Hi,

Try this to turn off ink level checking.

The Scan cover must be closed completely and locked in place. And the ink cartridge must be firmly locked in place as well.

Press and Hold the Stop/Reset button for 6 full seconds and then release it? Use the one Mississippi method of counting.

This will disable ink level checking. The ink level checking doesn't always work well after a while and you can use this to refill your ink tanks as well.

Refilling ink tanks comes with its own risks and is known to not work well at higher altitudes above sea level. The closer to 4,000ft, roughly, the more likely the ink tank is to leak. And, these tanks can only be refilled about three times before the holes in the bubble jet corrode and are out of round. This will show as text that is not crisp to the eye in appearance.
