What do you mean by 200 thread? If that is a thread weight, it could be the problem. Very heavy weight or very light weight threads will generally not work well in a sewing machine without some adjustments.
Install a brand new needle.
Remove the thread from the machine.
Try a different thread. Some machines are finicky when it comes to thread (brand, weight, and thread material). So try different threads to see if it makes a difference. Generally, if thread breaks within a few inches of beginning stitching, then the machine is usually threaded incorrectly or the thread is hanging up on the spool pin, thread spool, or wrapped around a guide.
RAISE the presser foot and rethread from the beginning. Make sure the tension is set somewhere at the midway point between the high & low number. Verify with the owner's manual that the correct threading sequence has been followed.
Retest.
1. The needle thread is not threaded properly
2. The needle thread tension is too tight
3. Needle is bent or blunt
4. The needle is incorrectly inserted into the needle holder
5. The needle thread and bobbin thread are not set under the presser foot before sewing
6. The thread is either too heavy or too fine for the needle
7. The needle is not the correct one for the fabric being sewed
8. Check for burrs on the needle plate
