System keeps shutting down when I try to power it up

If system is stuck, try to reboot the system by pressing power button and keeping it down until system shuts down (hold it down 5+ seconds).

does it shut down and then just start right back up? If it does then press and hold the power button and make sure it shuts down all the way. Then take the battery out and press and hold the power button after the battery is out for about 5 seconds. Then let it sit like 10 - 15 seconds. Turn the tablet all the way off, press and hold the VOL - and power at the same time for 8 to 9 seconds, it will show a green android guy with a system recovery menu. Use vol - to go down to Wipe Data/Factory Reset, press the power button to select it, go down to 'yes' to confirm, press the power button to select it, it will wipe the tablet, you then press the power button on 'reboot system'.

A couple questions. Have you ever tried switching from auto-on while the system was working properly? And when it shuts down, does the blower in the furnace/air handler shut down as well? And the no batteries just means the thermostat is drawing power from the transformer in the furnace.

If your Laptop is over heating you may need to look into a stronger type of cooling system { Fan }
But for now lets set up your power Options settings
to try to keep your CPU cool.
In power options select Power Saver.
If you see the selection to keep the fan running select it also. save and exit.
Hopefully this will help to keep your system cool until you can service it.

It doesn't matter what you do, that the system will power down after being on for exactly a minute? Or do you find that when you try using it a few times in a row that the shut off happens a little sooner each time? Did this suddenly start happening or was it something that began occurring gradually (meaning it would power on for an hour and then auto shutoff)?

It sounds to me like some electrical component inside is failing and that the self-protection circuitry design is kicking in. Or it could be that the power transformer is worn out and can't maintain power for more than a minute.

Keep in mind that repairs to these older electronics can end up costing as much as it would be to buy a new unit (and new units offer much more technology anyway).
