I need a battery for my portable dvd player. It will not play unless plugged into an outlet and freezes when played in the car. I have looked all over and this is my first experience with this brand.

Check out or Google "Batteries Plus" they have all types of batteries for just about anything. They may be willing to open your original battery case and replace the OEM batteries with comparable batteries.

Battery will not hold a charge

The battery is defective. I could not find a replacement battery online. The player is less expensive than the cost to repair unless it is covered under warranty. IN future, donot allow the battery to fully discharge. It will shorten its life or end it completely!

I believe it can play ought right from AC without battery attached. In fact always playing it with battery AND AC could overcharge and kill the battery before its time.

Some portable DVD players will charge from a home outlet, but not a car outlet. You probably need a replacement, however.

From the item description it looks like its just 6 rechargeable AA connected in series, so you could probably make one pretty easily if you wanted to.

Portable dvd player will not play off outlet or car charger

There must be something wrong with the amount of power the power supply is providing. I would try and purchase another power supply, and see if it still happens. Another thing it could be is the port where you plug in the power cord, is the port loose or can you move it? If this is the case, it might not be receiving clean power.

DVD Player freezes on some commercially produced DVDs

The microprocessor or memory componets on the player isnt functioning asits supposed too. This is rather troubling and there isnt any easy fixes possible.. My suggestion is seeing as its new return it and get a replacement. Chances are it will fail very soon.

Hi Phylis, You don't mention the plug-in battery pack which slots into the 4 pin socket on the back of the player. If you don't have the battery pack it will only play when plugged in. Peter

Insignia PD10135 Portable DVD Player Battery won't work

I have the same unit, and had the same problem numerous times. I finally removed the battery and sprayed CRC electronic cleaner over the battery terminals as well as the units terminals. Put the battery back in hooked up the charger and it went green. It is playing as I write this.

Portable DVD player

Its sounds like cpu/memory problem. the laptop can't play dvd while doing other things. Try to play dvd while all other application are close, if it doesn't freeze its a cpu/memory problem (inwhich case why should try to buy more memory)
